Disregarding anything unnecessary to her current way of life, Ariadne is a witch who abides by the purest form of the Occam's Razor principle quite closely. She cares little for understanding the inner workings of the world or people around her, and she views her magic ability in a very black and white manner: she either can or can't do something. If she can do something, then she will. This makes her relatively easy to work with as far as Northern wizards go, as she's often willing to do anything as long as its within her power—and given how powerful she is, most things are.
Though she's always had a reserved nature, Ariadne was much more expressive many centuries ago. After her husband's death, her gaze has become distant and forlorn. While not at the manor, her pastime is trapping men (humans and wizards alike) in mazes back home in the North with her magic. She will never find her love again, but it won't stop her from searching and keeping the soul of any man unfortunate enough to fall prey to her.
