No one respected him. Not as the feeble little creature he couldn't help but be created as. He wanted the stature, the stance, the respect such a form imposed. Stuck with the parts of himself he couldn't bear to rip off, he is constantly punching up. Anyone above him is a threat, and he considers everyone above him, despite what his self-important attitude reiterates. A mess, but a damn efficient one.
