About

Shelby is one of the most popular people at Elkedge due to her celebrity status as the soccer team captain. She takes pride in her abilities, whether in her athletic prowess or quick wit. She's a hard worker, which she likes to blame on her parents for their high standards. Shelby is the golden girl.

Even though she has a lot of confidence, it's easy for her to pick on herself for small things. She's self concious and feels ashamed easily. Being around her friends used to make her fee better, but things have been different lately regarding their new strange taste in makeup and odd group activities on the roof.

Personality

Shelby takes herself very seriously and takes any task she's given equally as seriously. The only time she didn't do so was after being requested by her teacher to get closer to Jackie, since the two of them were bickering. Instead she took it as a joke, which only resulted in hurting Jackie's feelings. Shelby can be quite mean sometimes, but it's rare that she genuinely means it, instead it's more of a coping mechanism.

However, she is very mature and loyal because of this. She keeps promises and feels deeply, although she never expresses it. She could be seen as uptight or bossy, but she really only acts the way she does because of her background.

Relationships

Shelby has a complicated relationship with Jackie which evolves during a short period of time. Shelby has a soft spot for Jackie, although she hates to admit it, as it would be total social suicide to hangout with Jackie.

Sadiyah is someone who Shelby pities, but she isn't just a charity case to Shelby. She's also her closest friend at Elkedge, and her roommate. Sadiyah goes to Shelby about everything, only when Colleen isn't an option.

Colleen is the person who gave Shelby the life she wanted, friends, popularity, status, appearance. She taught her how to apply makeup, how to stick to the dress code with exceptions of course, how to make friends. Shelby is very grateful to Colleen.
