Beginnings
Thycius was born in an isolated temple, in a village called Aemelle, in the high mountains. His parents were members of the order of wizards who lived in the temple, raising Thycius in the mythic arts from a young age.
Thycius grew up never leaving the temple except for the surrounding mountain wilderness. Socially, he only ever interacted with the other temple members, growing up with the other wizard kids as his friends. He became best friends with Thedan, a elven wizard his age. The two would grow up and fall in love.
Adulthood
Thycius married Thedan and has a daughter with him. They lived a peaceful life together at the temple for many years, before Thycius discovered an eldritch tomb hidden in the archives under the temple. It showed the tiefling horrible things, so he burned it; yet, the images and words were ingrained in his mind, and Thycius felt himself grow mad. He also discovered a black book which he found recorded his dreams (and his alone) while he slept, which he kept.
A few months after Thycius read the tomb, Thedan came down with a mysterious sickness. All the wizards tried everything they could to save him, but he eventually succumbed to the sickness and died within a month. Six months later, Thycius takes care of his daughter alone, still keeping to his wizards studies, but unsure of his psyche still being affected by the eldritch tomb he read.
Eventually, disaster striked at the temple, which happened to actually be the shell of an ancient slumbering creature which had just awoken. In the chaos, Thycius fled but was separated from everyone else, including his teenage daughter. Thycius ended up answering the call of the Central Council of Gooba to investigate the mystery of the creatures, feeling resentful towards them and how they tore his home apart and took his family away, all while wondering if these creatures were also responsible for his life starting to crumble that day he journeyed into the temple archives.
