About

Titurna, also called Tide-Turner by humans, lives on an island far out to sea. The island is large enough to have a cove, and attached to the cove is the entrance to a large half-submerged cave.

Her island is surrounded by shipbreaker rocks and ill tides. She has decorated the island with the bones of shipwrecks, which she collects. Within her cave is the same, and here she fills the hulls with treasure and hangs gold chain from broken masts. Central within the cave is a massive pile of seawashed gold, upon which she sleeps.

She ignores the Pact between humans and dragons; sinking ships for their treasure, to collect the ship, or simply to eat those aboard. Little can be done against sea-dragons like her. Many sailors pour treasure overboard in offering to her, which usually appeases her.

Dragons live long and breed slowly: it is rare that eggs are laid and rarer still they hatch. It is of great importance of all dragons to continue the species, though this is difficult with how isolated each dragon prefers to be. Dragons are not chained to their territories, however, and will sometimes travel for various reasons, one of which is to seek a partner. Strength is prized as it is seen to increase the chances of a successful clutch.

A partner is seen as a necessity - different from having a mate, which is a love-match. Dragons will maintain a partnership for a time, visiting each other periodically, with the relationship dwindling if no eggs are produced.

Though Mars and Sage are mates, Mars and Titurna have an understanding. Mars visits her at her convenience. They have not yet had a successful clutch. Outside of their partnership, they are friends, often sinking ships together. Mars brings strong winds and storm, Titurna churns the seas, and a good time is had by the two.
