Profile

Once upon a time, there was a young girl with a happy family, she loved going out and helping her family, no matter what they may do, and always looked forward to going out and meeting them on the weekend, Beatrice was a happy girl and especially loved having picnics with her beloved grandparents.

But these happy times were not meant to last, one day, she decided to surprise her grandparents with a visit all by herself, she happily burst onto the scene, only to see something grim...

Over night, robbers had broken into her grandparents house, stealing precious gems, an old bracelet that Beatrice liked to wear, and money that they were saving for retirement, and wounding her grandmother, who attempted to stop them, the police managed to arrive in time to save her grandparents, but they were never able to find the stolen goods ever again. While Beatrice was thankful to have helped her grandparents, the shock that evil people could just break into someone's house and take what they thought was theirs weighed heavily on her mind, and began to worry if they'd ever come for her too.

Her innocence was irreparably damaged, and while she was still happy to spend time with her family, her grandparents were never quite the same afterwards, it was as if their happiness was stolen from them, never to return.

Time passed, and Beatrice grew up, never quite straying far from her family, or what happened that fateful day, she was suggested to become a police officer, but found the police to be worthless, bumbling oafs, how could they not find precious gems, a bracelet, and money with traceable bills?!

No, Beatrice resolved to become someone who would hunt down bullies and those who stole things that didn't belong to them, and who knows? Maybe one day she'd even find the people that robbed her grandparents that one fateful day, and so, she went off on her own after graduating from school, seeking ways to train her mind and body to become a fighter.

Eventually, her training and career path would distance her from her family and friends as Beatrice became something of a mercenary or bounty hunter, taking jobs to hunt down and hurt others, but she only took jobs that would require capturing "bad" people, ones who stole from the poor, killed innocent people and defenseless ones, and for a time, this worked, she was paid, she was having an outlet for pent up aggression (that frankly surprised her), and she was keeping filth off the streets.

And yet... sooner or later, those dried up, and the only jobs she was able to take were dirty ones, killing a famous politician, stealing from a museum... she had no choice but to take them, she wasn't good for anything else... and, yet, the more she did them, the easier it became to do them... this was for a greater purpose, she told herself, that this was just to keep the lights on, and soon better jobs would come!

...

This kept going on, and on, time passed, and soon, Beatrice was a woman of 40 years old, feared as one of the most ruthless and deadly "hunters" in the underworld, she kept claiming she did it to find the people responsible for robbing her grandparents, but she had already killed them long ago without her knowing. As she looked back on her life, she wondered what lead her to this point...

Was it the fact her innocence was damaged that day her family was robbed? Maybe she should've stuck to her principles and not done such filthy jobs? She didn't know, but her hands were stained, and no amount of cleaning would get them off. For a time, she considered retiring.

But unfortunately in her line of work, there is no such thing as an easy retirement, especially when you make so many enemies.

She announced intentions to quit, and then, on the night afterwards, she was ambushed in a forest clearing by a girl who claimed Beatrice killed her parents, the shock was enough for Beatrice to not fight back, and she fell to the ground, bleeding and left for dead.

As her conscious began to clear, she looked up towards the night sky and began to contemplate her life as it was bleeding out. If she could go back, would she do this again? If she was given happiness and joy, would she turn out different? Maybe, just maybe, if she had another chance, could she do better this time?

She closed her eyes, ready to accept the reaper's embrace, only to feel a soft warmth across her face, a beautiful angel was floating above her, and though he looked strange, like a cartoon, he reached his hands out to her

"Poor child, your life was wasted in pursuit of anger and hatred, and now it ends unceremoniously. I can give you a second chance, though your hatred will never go away, perhaps happiness will counter balance it? Come, work for me, and I will restore your youth, and your happiness. You will be as an angel"

An angel offering her a second chance at life...? She hesitated at the mention of work, but what was the alternative? Dying?

With her last bit of strength, Beatrice reached out and took the  angel's hand, and all went white...

....

...

When next Beatrice woke up, she gasped, her wounds were all healed... and more concerningly, she was a lot smaller! As she gazed into a mirror, she found that wasn't all, she was now much smaller, looking like a cartoon, but... she looked much younger, back to her prime of around 20 years old, maybe even younger! And... deep within her, she felt something. Something she hadn't felt for many, many years...

Joy.

She giggled and laughed, she was alive, and happy!

Once she finished dancing in mirth, the Angel returned, holding out a bright, golden bracelet... it looked familiar.

The Angel explained that he saved Beatrice's life, but in return, he would have to work for him, he was an archfae, a faery that ruled over an area of "The Fair Lands", in this case, a section of land that looked like cartoons! (The one who created it liked cartoons of the mortal worlds)

By accepting this ring, she would be blessed and become "Oathbound" to him, gaining great power, and sealing the contract forever. Though she would have to capture others, make sure others don't escape, she would have happiness, innocence, forgiveness, and youth unending...

That sounded perfect...

She took the ring, and a jolt of energy coursed through her as it felt like something solidified within her, the bracelet became bound to her, and all beneath it turned pure white, like porcelain... she explained that now she truly was like an angel, and could use this bracelet to call on the power of the angel within, should she need it.

And thus began Beatrice's life as an Oathbound, she lives happily in her master's fair lands, while occasionally going off on "missions" to help him, capturing others to make them happy, going to magical portals to ensure people are drawn into the fair lands, and simply entertaining others, when the need arises.

At the moment, Beatrice is currently serving within a magical book penned by Jovani Clover, the book tells a tale of a lost wanderer who falls deeper and deeper into the woods, until they reach the end and gain eternal salvation from an an angel...

Beatrice's job is to make sure anyone that is sucked within the book reaches it's end and is pulled into her master's lands, to be trapped there eternally

And what luck, the most recent person to be sucked into the book is a certain half-vampire...
