Past
At a young age, Eight started her training for the Octarian Army. While not always the best at fighting, she was always able to outsmart her opponents, even if she was training against literal severed tentacles.
Splatoon (14)
The one thing Eight remembers from her past is the battle she witnessed between Agent 3 and DJ Octavio. Agent 3 motivated her to continue her training in hopes that she could one day be as strong as her. Not only that, but Calamari Inkantation has forever been etched into her soul.
Octo Expansion (16)
This section is basically a recap of octo expansion with a few minor changes.
On the day that this octoling encountered Agent 3 again, she, Agent 3, and Captain Cuttlefish were attacked by something and ended up in the Deep Sea Metro. The octoling lost all of her memories and Captain Cuttlefish, now an agent down, decided to nickname her "Agent 8". This was also a shortened form of "Subject Number 10,008" that the telephone gave her. If Eight wanted to leave to go to the "promised land" she had to explore the metro in order to find the 4 thangs. With the help of Off the Hook members Pearl and Marine, Eight was able to reach all thangs. It turns out that the telephone ws going to blend her and Cuttlefish up with the contraption. At the last moment, Agent 3 got the distress signal and saved them by smashing through the roof. While she was knocked out, Eight took the opportunity to escape through the hole left behind. She was so close to the suface, but stopped by a brainwashed Agent 3. After their battle, Eight was able to get the sanitization goop of her face and help her get to the suface with her. Once there, the telephone revealed itself to be Commander Tartar and was about to destroy Inkopolis. Pearl and Marina came to the rescue to assist Agent 8 to defeat Commander Tartar and save the city.
After all that, Eight moved to Inkopolis. She was offered the oppertunity to join the New Squidbeak Splatoon, but turned it down. Agent 4 offered to let Eight stay in her apartment until she found a place for herself, but they eventually became roommates. Eight got in the habit of cleanning absolutly everything in sight, so Sheldon offered her a job at Ammo Knights.
Present
Eight's life has stayed pretty consistant since then. Four moved to Splatsville and has taken over the Inkopolis Sqare Ammo Knights location. She's also taken up a couple of hobbies, such as poetry writting, embroidery, and reading (mostly to see the differences in inkling history). She's published a poetry book about her experience in the metro which has become semi-successful. Not only that, but she still keeps in touch with Pearl and Marina, usually getting a front row seat to their concerts.
