Sootfleck

Sootfleck is a Guardian of his clan—the protective leader who commands all the watchmen and guards. You might look at him and say, “He seems like a reserved guy.” But in reality, he’s very friendly. He’s quite open, trustworthy, and a good friend; his profession has made him love helping those in need. But he has a soft spot for those he loves. Ever since the events of a war caused by a mistake of his own, Sootfleck has been left with irreversible trauma. From a strong and imposing guardian, he’s become an anxious and fearful cat. Now he’s completely unsure of how to interact with new members and can sometimes come across as very rude, for fear of letting his feelings show and having them used against him. He still protects his clan and loved ones, but not like he used to. He is no longer the leader of anything, and he hardly participates in battles anymore; he stays more on the sidelines during watch. For he breaks down very easily at the sight of bodies and those he once loved being attacked, becoming vulnerable—or going completely mad to protect those he loves and ending up attacking even those on his own side. That’s why he’s become quieter—less the bright light he once was and more the star that shines the least; trying to hide in the crowd, ashamed of who he’s become. He’s still a sweetheart, but he doesn’t speak like he used to.
