Feel free to make your own (Including crossbreeds with other closed or open species that allow it)!

If making a crossbreed that will be going on a species masterlist, please get the design cleared with me!! It's incredibly unlikely I will ever go "no not allowed please change this" but I just feel the need to approve it because some species might require them to be checked by the species owner or staff (which is just me)!

TLDR:

Virulai are beings that originate from a digital plane and migrate to the real world by external means. Most if not all of them are built off of or take data from various programs of varying types, from desktop buddies to more admin-esque windows, like a task manager or command prompt. Most of them are incomplete and are partially broken or corrupted, leading to interesting traits that manifest on their physical bodies, such as wireframes, improperly placed bodyparts, etc. By nature they are very inquisitive and tend to want to help others or be an assistant, but it's a feeling that can be shed with time. Virulai that lose this will to help others are generally categorized into a separate label from their original counterparts, as it means that a deeper level of corruption may be present As of now, it's unknown where exactly they come from.

Traits Common to Virulai-A types include:

- Bodies that are mostly intact, but with minor imperfections found on all virulai such as their odd-looking faces or odd placements or lack of bodyparts

- A positive, patient and optimistic personality and an affinity for helping others in the pursuit of information that they deem crucial to have

Traits Common to Virulai-B types include:

- A negative personality with an innate will to manipulate or sabotage others in pursuit of information or items they deem crucial to have

- Bodies that are much more damaged, missing notable parts of their bodies to corruption. They are much more prone to things such as recurrent memory loss (data purging), irritable moods, and vestigial physical extensions (which are usually used for malicious reasons)

* Virulai are NOT required to follow this classification system nor are they required to have specific traits. It is, like real classification systems, flawed and there are many who fall outside, inbetween, and sometimes even in both categories. This was just added because I thought it sounded interesting!

SPECIES TOS

- Virulai may be voided and disassociated with the species at any time without need for explicit consent. No design changes are needed. All that needs to be changed or removed is the species name and nothing else.

- Virulai may NOT RESEMBLE CANON CHARACTERS WITH LITTLE TO NO CHANGES BESIDES SLAPPING SPECIES TRAITS ONTO THEM.

- You are allowed to make existing characters AU forms that are members of this species.

- You are allowed to make crossbreeds with other species if they allow it.

- Virulai may not take heavy inspiration from other virulai and characters.

- I, SPACELAND reserve the right to request you distance yourself from my species at any time.

- Virulai may not be owned by anyone on my block or blacklist. (not that i can really do anything about it though)

- PLEASE DO NOT CREDIT ME AS THE 'CREATOR' OF ANY DESIGNS THAT I PERSONALLY DID NOT CREATE. Credit yourself! Or whoever designed it.

- As of writing (7/7/23), I do allow third-party adopts to be made using this species name! I'd like to have them be run by me for quality control, but I'm not going to stop you otherwise.
