• There  were a few complications during Cadence's pregnancy with Snowdust. Most  winged foals only have small, featherless limbs when born, but Snowdust  was born with much larger wings than normal, and already had her first  set of down. Her large wings made it very difficult for Cadence to birth  her normally. Snowdust was also born with a partially developed horn,  but lacked the core unicorns have, having only the hard keratin sheath.
• Due  to Snowdust's initial lack of unicorn magic, her infancy was quite  different from cannon. She did/does, however, have a very deep and  powerful pool of pegasus magic, so the major events were relatively the  same.
• Snowdust was also born albino, causing vision issues, and greater risk of skin cancer.
  
• Snowdust is partially blind, and has a pair of glasses, but prefers contact lenses or vision correcting spells.
• Snowdust's  cutie mark story is somewhat complicated, and ties in with her sister  Skyla's strange ability to "see ghosts". The general gist of it, though,  is as follows: Skyla spots the wandering soul of Radiant Hope, some  events and time passes, Snowdust and Skyla find a shard of Sombra's  horn, they manage to resurrect Sombra the same way Discord did,  everything goes south, Sombra nearly takes over the Crystal Empire  (again), Snowdust uses the Crystal Heart to inspire hope in the  citizens, and then uses the Heart to strip Sombra of his powers and  magic, leaving him as just a normal unicorn with a below-average mana  pool. Shortly after the dust settles, someone points out Snowdust's new  cutie mark.
• Snowdust is quite adventurous, but her parents try to keep her close to home due to their concerns for her health.
• Some of Snowdust's favorite hobbies are ice skating, ice/snow sculpting, and hiking.
• Snowdust tends to get crushes easily and will have several relationships before she settles down.
• Because  of the initial disaster of their wedding, Shining decides to give his  family basic combat and self-defense training. Snowdust has a spear she  got as a gift for her 16th birthday from her dad.
• Cadence and  Shining let Snowdust help with a lot of the routine tasks required of  being a ruler, to help her gain experience without giving her too much  at once.
• She eventually ascends to alicornhood a few years after  defeating Sombra, and gains a crystalline horn (which fully replaces  her partial horn) and hooves. She takes longer than average to gain her  first halo due to her fully crystal horn being able to contain more  energy than a normal horn. When she does eventually gain her halo, it  would be the same color as the star in her cutie mark.
