Ronan always wanted to travel outside of his home country, but his family never had the money to travel too far from home. It wasn't until high school that it was announced that a school in Japan was doing a foreign exchange program for a year, and Ronan jumped at the opportunity to apply. He didn't care extremely that he could've been going to a place that he didn't know much about the language, but it was somewhere far away, and it would've been easy to get his parents on board with the idea. To his luck, his application was accepted, and off he was to Kamiyama High.
