Mezzo

A mezzo-soprano or mezzo (English: /ˈmɛtsoʊ/; Italian: [ˌmɛddzosoˈpraːno]; meaning "half soprano") is a type of classical female singing voice whose vocal range lies between the soprano and the contralto voice types. The mezzo-soprano's vocal range usually extends from the A below middle C to the A two octaves above (i.e. A3–A5 in scientific pitch notation, where middle C = C4; 220–880 Hz). In the lower and upper extremes, some mezzo-sopranos may extend down to the F below middle C (F3, 175 Hz) and as high as "high C" (C6, 1047 Hz).[1] The mezzo-soprano voice type is generally divided into the coloratura, lyric, and dramatic mezzo-soprano.

Following the incident in which the nefarious Dr. Wily hijacked a robotics convention that Professor Alice Gramme Bell was displaying eight of her Robot Masters during a lecture, and modified Professor Bell's robots for combat specifications to appeal for his infamous plans of world domination--Professor Bell rushed to sit down and create a design for a robot that could quickly respond and deal with any similar events in the future.

While Professor Bell holds the belief that her robots are designed with explicit nonviolent civilian purposes in mind, Mezzo was an exception to that rule--as she was made to act as a bodyguard for Professor Bell during public events, and to help protect her laboratory from any intruders.

Mezzo utilizes a specially-designed array of eight high strength speakers located on her helmet, shoulders, forearms, and palms in order to project a sonic blast (dubbed the Blast Beat) that can easily incapacitate or disorient any threats she comes across. Alongside her Blast Beat, Mezzo has the ability to create a specific frequency intended to shake apart the frame of larger robots, rendering them structurally unstable and likely to fall apart.

However, on the same note--in order to prevent Mezzo from destroying her chassis from the vibrations of the non-lethal sonic weapons that she uses, Professor Bell designed Mezzo's armor with a flexible internal support system, which in turn also has an added benefit to her mobility, agility, and response time to incidents.

When it comes to her personality, Mezzo is scrappy, yet surprisingly efficient from the combat-focused computational systems in her IC chip, and carries an earnest, but snarky and unfiltered personality. Unsurprisingly, and much to the dismay of others--in the periods of downtime that she has, Mezzo has an affinity towards loud music and specifically favors the electronic, and drum & bass genre.
