Chairo was born human, and he was left at a monastery at a very young age and raised by the clergy there. He was never much of a talker and often had to be quiet either way due to the study, prayers and rites. He didn't mind however, and often spent his time with hobbies, writing, cooking and gardening. He was a good listener, and very good with the younger children at the monastery. From his pre-adolescence, he often had unsettling dreams and was able to see many things most could not, mainly spirits and incorporeal entities. This caused the clergy to decide to raise him as a priest, believing this was a blessing from the gods. Chairo performed very well under the training and was very devout, able to perform and channel rites, healing and blessings well. However, there was a melancholic restlessness he found inside himself, and after he completed his training, he decided to travel his country, the shining isles, to assist others in hopes to find his purpose. Helping small villages with sicknesses, bringing tortured spirits to rest, and banishing malevolent entities were all things he did quietly and earnestly with his heart, and the people grew fond of him, making him a local folk hero of sorts. Content and happy to see the positive effects his training had on others, he decided to go through with becoming a priest. On his return to the monastery, however, he tragically died. The gods, who had took notice of his selflessness, were horrified that a man so young and promising died before his potential could have been reached. They resurrected him as a minor deity, a servant of sorts that delivered their messages and tended their gardens. He now is the Gardener of Hesperides, a garden in the far-west that holds the fruit to eternal life.

Due to once being mortal, Chairo didn't fade away as their pantheon eroded from a transition in faith; he simply became a deity for the gods that replaced them, and has been ever since. He currently serves under Kore, the goddess of agriculture, death and natural cycles. His power is based off his associations, which mainly include flora, messages, shephards and peace; however, in some areas he is also regarded as a god of the earth, purity, eternal rest, rebirth, healing, prophecy, and (due to association with nisi, a fellow mortal-turned-god of arcana, mysteries, ritual insanity, and undeath, and kore herself,)and the deliver/harbinger. Truth be told, he is a part-time psychopomp of sorts.. He also channels his power (which could be considered arcane faith) through the rites he learned as a human (which was ancient divination rites), making his techinques uniquely his own.

Chairo is very emotional and has a childish innocence to him. Most don't realize this at first glance due to his natural stoicism, as both his voice and his face are very subtle in expressions, making him come off as calm and composed to most. He loves humanity and wants to see people bloom into their best possible selves-- though he doesn't really know how to help them on that.. He's very polite, calling people some variant of sir or miss if he doesn't known their names or titles. He'll deliver a message for mortals if they ask nicely or offer him a small gift and he's not too busy. He's also a bit shy, and often has no idea what he's 'supposed' to do in social situations. He's often lost in thought.

He's still very devout, and prays and fasts to the gods he worshipped as a human, his rites often being performed in their names and in the name of peace. His all-loving nature and naivety come with a price, however; he has a hard time seeing the bad or toxic in others, and thus he often can get hurt or manipulated by others. He has trouble seeing the consequences of his actions if he does things for the people he cares about, and it's often until it's too late for him to realize he's fucked up. He's very self-sacrificing, covering for others if he believes in him. It's very, very hard to make him lose his patience, but when he does, it's something to be feared. He's very clingy and protective of those he loves, and of people in general.
