they can shapeshift but are kinda bad at it, major form changes take a decently large amount of time to achieve, and they aren't the best at controlling it. trying to shift too fast can result in them straight up melting into their slime form.
their pendant helps them control their shapeshifting better, without it they could undergo minor form changes without noticing, like a hand turning into a paw, spontaneously growing fangs, stuff like that. that still happens occasionally, which can annoy them a bit. it's not fun to suddenly grow an elephant trunk mid-conversation.
they often undergo minor shifts while experiencing strong emotions, or while sneezing, coughing, hiccuping, etc.
feel free to draw them in different forms or stuff like that, but the pendant MUST STAY.
