Finch Hume

Finch Hume is a young, up-and-coming amateur detective. Living a bit of a sheltered life due to privilege and somewhat overprotective parents, Finch found adventure through reading Sherlock Holmes (or the furry equivalent) books obsessively. He immediately imitated the fictional detective life style, and it wasn’t long before this young pup’s morbid curiosity of death lead him to becoming a forensic photographer, who uses his position to try and solve crimes before anyone else.

Finch, like most of my characters, is an autistic gay transman, however he struggles to differentiate platonic feelings from romantic ones. He actually struggles with a lot of inner feelings that he doesn’t understand, he even has problems telling when he’s hungry or thirsty. Despite his cold exterior, he has a big heart, with his passion for solving crimes coming from a place of hyper-empathy.

Finch has had both top and bottom surgery, I just wanted to draw him in a binder though because I can.

Common attributes:

• photography

•crime scenes

•just anything you could imagine in a typical bbc Sherlock set

•his rooms are messy, both in an “this layout makes sense to my brain”, “oh yeah I’ll move the test tubes later”, and “the dust feels right please don’t clean it” kinda of way.

Common activities/hobbies:

•crime solving stuff (finger prints, autopsy reports, etc)

•experiments that don’t really have a clear purpose, just for the sake of looking scientific

•reading (his special interests are Sherlock, Bees, and super hero comic but he won’t admit it)

•he’s quite fond of painting, usually something symbolizing a recent crime or whatever he’s feeling in the moment. Lots of morbidly beautiful stuff, and “this feeling is like orange but explosive”

Setting:

•basically a beastars style version of London? It’s just London but built for different sized animals in mind. (May or may not have a black market like in the beastars universe, but Finch would not take part in that anyway)

•His flat is an absolute mess, how he finds anything in there is a miracle.

Additional info:
Since his story is set in a beastars style universe, there is devourings and meat eating as well. However, Finch wouldn’t partake in these since he has the worst sense of hunger, and doesn’t have any prey drive.
