DISLIKES: Lady Syrilla, unfortunately, has a great distaste for the muddy and icky nature of Marshfall, never a fan of getting herself too dirty. However, she makes do well enough despite it, and tries to appreciate the scenery for its beauty. She has a particularly vehement dislike for hypocrites and zealots as well, always having found that blind faith, even in one's self and own abilities, tends to kneecap those with it. She isn't the biggest fan of the more tedious sides to politics, like the marriage proposals, but she bears with it.
Syrilla was born one of two children in a dwindling family called the Mistwalkers, known for their extensive herbal and medical knowledge and their skill with potion making and midwivery. They were commonfolk at the time of her birth. Her elder sibling was a molly named Hush Mistwalker, and despite only being 16 moons old at the time of her sister's birth, she soon had to step into a parenting role.
The fact of the matter was that Anrir and Fenwin Mistwalker, their parents, had a rocky marriage and neither one was particularly checked in to their children. Fenwin was an obsessive midwife, and Anrir was a knight- he had married into her family. Hush was left to step in and raise Syrilla, so that she didn't turn out as she had.
Despite her young age, Hush raised Syrilla well, and the young molly idolized her elder sister. While Syrilla had been put in charge of the family business as soon as she turned 18 moons old, exclusively in charge of the potionmaking, Syrilla was put onto the path of midwivery.
When she was 14 moons old, a massive coup was staged, coming to a head in the form of the Stepping Stones Massacre that took out most of the ruling family in Marshfall. Anrir devoted the short remainder of his life to fighting on the side of Lady Amyra Thorn, the remaining rightful Leige of Marshfall, and Fenwin and Hush sent resources to the Lady as well.
It was because of this that as soon as Lady Thorn's seat was slightly secure, she elevated the Mistwalker family to a House, lords and ladies of Marshfall.
In the aftermath of their ascension, the new Lady Syrilla was appointed heir instead of Lady Hush- though her sister told her later that it was because she had rejected the position. She wanted to remain working with herbs, not politics.
As such, Lady Syrilla began training in the political sphere, observing curiously as Lady Amyra hunted out rats and the like from her reigning sphere. Marriage proposals started towards her- House Mistwalker had always been a valuable commoner family to partner with, but as a House, with control of the potions productions of Marshfall, they were in high demand.
However, Lady Hush would be the one to marry off instead, again reassuring Syrilla that it was time and not something she dreaded. After all, her job could continue at the home of her wife, and she wouldn't need to carry after all.
Lady Syrilla has been very lonely since her sister's departure.
