Sasha works for Worldseal, an organization that seeks to gather information on various other worlds in the events in them. Generally, she travels from world to world and makes records of significant people and events, but sometimes she is sent for more specialized purposes.
Sasha has been "traveling" ever since she was a little girl, starting with the world of Mixolys, a world of song magic and peculiar creatures called Pactones. Other worlds she has been to include Telya (a more standard fantasy world), Medlia (a sort of "hub world" that attracted many types of outworld immigrants), and Celea (a sci-fi sort of world that only recently discovered the potential for magic) Eventually, she started a team of travelers from several worlds called the World Walkers.

An older Sasha still works for Worldseal, though her inability to face consequences shows more than it ever has. She has four children, two adopted, two biological. Her adopted children came first: Joshua, a lost boy who ended up being the vessel for his world's king of demons, and Emeline, the incarnation of the princess of her world's spirit realm. Her first child, Quint, was put up for adoption and left in his world of origin until he embarked on a quest to find her. Her second child, Mirabel, was from her marriage to her husband Raymond, and she was largely an absentee mother due to her job and general flightiness.

Sasha ended up being the target of a very powerful Grim Reaper-type being from Joshua's world, who blamed her for reviving the war between demons and angels. Her children gathered to save her, and through manipulation of their powers, they gave her the ability to fight back and defeat the reaper. However, she sustained great injuries in that battle, and the only way to save her was to keep her in this form. The true form of her new power revealed itself: she had gained the ability to create dimensional nexuses that others could access and pass through. Her first act as a "Nexus Goddess" was to create the Arbitrarium, a nexus that presents itself as an inn for travelers from all dimensions.
