He's a highly energetic and extroverted man and has a brilliant and original mind. A joyous and irrepressible individual, nobody can stop him from pursuing his ( sometimes devilish ) goals. Variety, not constancy, is what made his lives worth living. In one of his lives he was pretty popular, turning him into an eccentric attention-seeker. He will cross every line to get attention from those deemed as worthy, even if that means killing or hurting anyone. The ventriloquist is often called 'odd' and 'weirdo' for his hobby choice and tone ( he speaks formally in an almost musical way ).

his only source of light in the underworld. Because of his prediction abilities, he knows the ventriloquist's true identity and background. Nostradamus truly pities him, and tries to talk some sense into him, but that's almost impossible, since the man is way too focused in his goals and obsessions. The ventriloquist usually mocks and tries to get Nos' attention, since he's lonely and almost invisible in the underworld..
barely notice the ventriloquist's existence, since he's always in disguise or planning something behind the scenes, like a skilled playwright. He wants to play them, use them like the puppets they are, he wants to make the perfect play for Anne with the corpses of the underworld demons as the actors..
is a human who has an odd resemblance to his wife Anne ( maybe she is her reincarnation? he thinks ). That's probably because both were kind, naive and gentle. Mio is his favorite subject, he loves stalking her and seeing her reactions to people and things. Eventually he gets obsessed with her.
Backstory
He was initially a very famous playwright in one of his first incarnations, he had fame, friends, and fun. When he died, he left his most precious treasure, his wife Anne. Entering the gates of the underworld, he waited, and waited, and waited for Anne to die. 2 months before she passed away, he gave up and reincarnated as a normal man. His new life was full of misery, pain and loneliness, he felt so lonely and couldn't even remember why. His main hobbies in life were being a poor ventriloquist,his only joy being a handmade ( and poorly made ) puppet doll called 'Anne'. His life as a ventriloquist was cut short when he committed suicide. At the underworld again, he ended up at the 'Valley of fear' ( a place similar to a dark forest where the souls wander until the day they were actually supposed to die ) for years. After leaving the valley, he again passed through the gates, searching for his soulmate, when Yoru told him 'she wouldn't be coming back so soon'. Now he wanders around the underworld, observing the people from distance to imagine what his life could have been
