Basaik Danfizh

Basaik is a 34 year old Octoling born in the Splatlands, aunt of Haniver. They’re both very close to each other since at some point, Haniver‘s family got very dysfunctional and Basaik offered her to live together. They both live in an apartment in Splatsville and have a great dynamic. 

She is the owner of a small store near the Hagglefish Market area where she sells bootleg and off brand band merchandise, from clothing to CDs and accessories. She started her store by selling her dead uncle's records online without permission, which lead to her father getting both angry and encouraging her to persue a career in selling metal merch. Basaik is also a drummer but does not desire to join any bands at the time since she plays as merely hobby and has no time for it, even though she has released a few records before in solitary and with friends, and was in a symphonic black metal band named Grymhet, but disbanded. The whole underground metal scene caught her attention during her teenage years because of her father‘s music taste, she practically lives from it and is very well known in the Splatlands scene for her store and her few records, both praised and criticized in the underground scene. She is also know for her online presence and her unhinged forum rants about 'metal posers' and 'false metal'.

Besides her love for music, Basaik is also a big comic enthusiast, her favorite series being Conan the Barbarian, an ancient human comic. She has a big collection of vintage 80s comics in her apartment’s living room, most of them bought secondhand. Because of her interest in ancient human comics, she developed a curiosity and fixation for ancient human history, and finds the Middle Ages her favorite topic of history. Sometimes she forces Haniver to watch 70s low budget fantasy movies with her because she thinks Haniver’s reactions are funny.

Her name is a reference to a Basilisk and her last name is a reference to Danzig, because of Glenn Danzig lol
