Vin Treja does not exist. Ask any Vanguard, any VIP, any Young Wolf, and they’ll tell you the same: no one by that name exists. It’s a mutually beneficial agreement: Vin gets his privacy, his solitude, and in return, the Vanguard gets an asset that will take care of the dirtiest dirty work with none of the risk of political scandal in tow.
It’s not exactly a hard lie to tell. Vin interacts with the Young Wolves only when ordered, and appears only when called. The most almost any Wolf can truly say is that they saw him, once, as they turned the corner, as his transmat fired. And yet, Vin knows them all incredibly well. Though his outward nature might imply otherwise, Vin is quite thoughtful, and is responsible for no small number of unmarked gifts left at Wolf apartment doors (and no small number of convenient disappearances).
considerate . prudent . ruthless
Vin is an Awoken, male, and appears to be somewhere in his early thirties. His skin is blue, swirling with the occasional fleck of white starlight. He bears no scars save one: a brutal ring around his throat, present since the first time he was raised, and which his Ghost has been unable to heal. Vin believes his former life probably died headless, but hasn’t bothered to dig. His hair is a dark blue-green that’s nearly black unless caught in the right light, and his eyes are a burning orange (perhaps no surprise, given his powerful affinity for Solar light).
- He has become highly protective of Crow since taking note of Benji’s deep fondness for him; no small number of Guardians responsible for Crow’s various cruel deaths have retired, requested reassignment, or gone missing entirely.
- His Ghost, Hesperos, vocalizes rarely, though the two are in constant telepathic communication. They often formulate tactics through games of simulated chess. Many would surely be surprised to find out just how casual and laid back Hesperos is outside of duty, as the few times she’s spoken in the presence of others, she has been sharp and formal.
