Wandering Willows (2009) (Soul Eater AU)

From a Soul Eater AU shared with FutureHearts and Morgast :) Wander is an... unusual person. It was rejected from Meister Academy back in its home state, but has never given up dreams of being a wielder. It's very strong in its convictions, morals, and goals - but it's convictions are strange, it's morals dubious, and it's goals something it keeps to itself. Whatever it is, it has decided to take Ludo Lestat, the Fleischwolf, as its weapon - whether he likes it or not. Unfortunately, no one else is too keen on this idea either, as Ludo is a kishin egg with aspirations of becoming an afreet and destroying the world. But the heart wants what it wants, Wander thinks.

Wander's soul has... unusual properties, and glows with an unnatural intensity. This is in part why she was turned away from Meisterdom, as her peculiar and mysterious nature makes it dangerous. Its appearance has been skewed slightly by its warped soul seeping out, giving it a subtle but monstrous appearance. Potentially the child of a witch and a human, though its unclear. All anybody knows is that Wander should absolutely not be trusted with a weapon, especially not the particularly unwieldy and lethal Fleischwolf.

As if to prove their point, Wander has been convincing Ludo to let it experiment on him, to advance his capabilities as its weapon.
