Ruby Wednesday

:: Super Power ::

• STRENGTH
  • Ridiculously strong for her size and age, being part literal metal both gives her amazing strength in and out of her shield (obviously being stronger when she's protected by her own shield). Although this strength is very limited, she's about as strong as a body builder-- (Ex. She could flip a car but it'd still be challenging/Couldn't throw or pick up a car) When shield is in use, Ruby can toss the fuck outta that car and lift a car, although anything bigger than that is a challange. 
•  Human Shield
  • Ruby can cover her whole body in an impenetrable dark gray metal shield from head to toe. The shield is borderline indestructible, things like bullets, fire, explosions etc, can't penetrate it, although they can weaken it, and over time too much of any of these things can automatically deactivate it if she’s not paying attention. If Ruby remains in her shield for too long, it becomes harder to remove at will. She can't yet cover her face with it, the shield only goes up to her neck. Her shield provides her with claws/pointed fingers/toes on both her hands and feet, making it easier to climb things like buildings if needed. She can change different portions of her body (ex. only cover her hands with the shield.) 
• Heavy
  • Both positive and negative effects to this-- Ruby is a lot heavier than she looks both with or without the shield. When shes normal, shes around 60 pounds heavier than she should be, and when her shield up she adds on an extra 100 pounds (making her around 290 lbs).

:: Fight Style ::

Despite being fairly heavy, Ruby can move a bit faster than expected. She's reckless and inexperienced with her fighting-- although she can manage to land decent hits if she puts her mind to it/depending on the opponent. Most of her fighting style is taking on hard hits, trying to absorb it and striking back when her opponents close, or, if she's dealing with a human criminal-- avoiding getting shot in the head and just walking at them till she can grab the criminal and disarm them. Over all though she sucks at fighting.

Appearance

Ruby stands at 5'1", although holds herself up straight to make sure people don't end up thinking she's shorter than she really is. Her hair is naturally ginger, but she'd dyed a streak of blond in herself at some point that normally swoops over one eye when she wears her hat. Her clothes very depending on how she feels, going between the average plaid jacket + cheap black dress pants to really any kind of loose skirt when she's on a "boy hunt" as she calls it. Most outfits are some variation of red or pink.

Physically, Ruby is a very smiley person, always grinning or beaming up at most people in most situations. And along with that, the way she walks is normally just as bouncy, making her a rather easy person to approach or talk to (until you talk to her then she's overbearing af). Ruby is also fairly fidgety, she doesn't like to stand or sit still, so she tends to tap on things, toss things between her hands or just find something to keep her occupied when she can't be bouncing around.

• Parents (Got her powers from dad side of the fam)
  • Ruby hasn't had very good contact with her parents for the majority of her life, they have always been busy working in the city, or at least that's what she's been told. They've been fairly persistent about keeping her in the country, but by the time she became an adult they lost control over where she lived. She has a decent relationship with her parents despite it only being over text, Ruby isn't too upset about the fairly distant relationship although she'd like to see her parents in person again. 
• Grandparents 
  • Never much issue between Ruby and her grandparents, she's always been respectful and helpful growing up, knowing the two were far too old to be raising a child. Both passed away when she was 22.

• Yun Choi :: College friend!
  • Ruby meet Yun at school on her first day, he was the campus guide. Flirting was instant, although she was quickly shot down-- rather than giving up though she made an effort to befriend the tall dude and somehow succeeded. Now she stalks him at work and laughs at him whenever she gets the chance.

• Thinks being a super hero is literally the coolest fucking thing and will often zone out, thinking about how cool all this is.
• Probably has a scrap book of all the dudes shes dated.
• Doesn't really hold grudges when someone breaks up with her, or the other way around, she sees it as another open door and a chance to go try something new. You'll have to do somethin' real shitty to piss her off enough to leave her hating you.

• Ruby fawns over boys a lot, but honestly shes veyr open minded and completely willing to date a girl. 

PERSONALITY

Ruby is a bubbly young adult with big hopes and dreams for her own future, and very determined to reach said goals. Never in her life has she been a slacker, a hard working attitude was quickly developed at a young age after spending years living and working on a farm. Not being shy in the slightest, it’s almost questioned if Ruby even knows when to be embarrassed for her own actions or by things she says-- she will go out of her way to befriend someone or potentially pick up a date with just about any boy her age or maybe even older. She may be extremely flirtatious and forward with her intentions, although she will back off if someone tells her to, she’s pushy she can respect when someone's not interested.

Reckless, Ruby often doesn't think before she acts, she’s use to the farm life, and knowing what’s different in the city/how to adjust still needs some work. She puts what she sees as important as priority over all else, so if you can convince her you know what’s best, she's likely to believe you, and do what you say. Ruby is very positive, always sees the brighter side of all situation despite how hopeless they may seem, she'll do everything in her power to get herself any anyone else out of trouble (often times overestimates her own abilities, thinking she can handle a lot more than she can).

Lastly, more than anything, Ruby believes if she helps get things back to normal in Saint City, she can finally be a normal college student and settle down with a hot model n' live her life. 

:: Fears ::

• Fire
  • She doesn't really act scared when expossed to fire, but honestly it really freaks her out-- Fire is probably the biggest threat against Rubys shield, it can break threw the easiest out of any other form of breaking it, and since she can't cover her face, it'd be easy for her to get her face fucked up. 
• Isolation
  • Ruby can't stand the thought of being away from people or cealed somewhere. After moving to the city, she realized she couldn't handle living on a far e v er again.

HISTORY

(Note* Ruby's father, as a boy got his shield threw a freak accident in a lab his father ran. The biggest difference between his and his daughters shield, is that his was far more powerful, but far less controlled. His shield couldn't be completely removed, his whole chest remained covered in the steel like armor along with his arms, leaving the rest of his body, and hands, at free control of turning the shield on and off. 

Ruby was more of an experiment than a actual child, she isn't aware but her parents never had any interest in one another, every relation between them was for science. When she was born, she showed no signs of having any powers, although her grandfather on her father's side wasn't finished with her and wanted to continue to experiment when she was older, to see if she'd develop anything over time. It turns out, she did develop a shield later on in life, although her grandfather passed away before he had time to conduct any tests. This is also why she was kept on a farm, in case she'd developed anything outside of the laboratory. And after her grandfather passed, her biological parents dropped any further research on their daughter, letting her live a normal life.

Ruby was born and raised on a farm outside of the city. During her younger years she did a lot of hard labor on the far, living with her grandparents rather than her parents (they were often away for work issues, she hasn't seen them since she was 14 - 15, although they keep in touch via text). Didn't have many friends growing up, but often watched reality tv and imagined what it would be like.
