Zyre's species bonds to to an animal when young, with it becoming their familiar, in this case Benu. They are rarely separated.

He’s pretty chill and has a very caring personality, which often means he’s the one keeping the more rambunctious members of the group from hurting themselves. When they inevitably do though, he’s there to patch them up.
