Yaotha remembers the time before the Resonance Cascade, but doesn’t dwell on it much. They’re preoccupied with more important things now. When they came to Earth, they were confused, disoriented, and faced with a cultural and language barrier. To top it all off, their connection with the Vortessence - that which binds all of their kind together - was weak, considering their young age.

Yaotha managed to learn English quickly, especially since they had little choice in the matter. Those who speak with them may notice that they tend to use the typical archaic vocabulary that most Vortigaunts use. They’ll switch back to Vortigese when speaking with anyone who knows it, though.

Yaotha helps the Resistance wherever they can, as their disdain for the Combine runs deep. However, they are curious and wary of most humans. Their connection to the Vortessence has strengthened, allowing them to heal minor wounds and channel beams of electricity, but is still relatively weak. Now, they’re just trying to get by in this strange world.
