Aeros

Aeros is arguably the "main character" of Nightsiders by merit of having the most initial backstory written about her. She is a young mutant glowan, with eight pupils in each eye. After her pupils come in during the middle of the day, her three friends and the sympathetic caretaker living on the nocturnal side of the city's education center manage to smuggle her out into the countryside with a small suitcase and a mobile device. And then she's on her own.

Aeros manages to cobble together resources over the next pass, sneaking into towns here and there to steal a thing or two while most of its residents sleep, and eventually setting up half a day's walk from a huge fourer orchard. The good news is that the territory is relatively safe from other glowans; the bad news, Aeros finds out, is that that's because there's an abundance of wildlife in the area. She and the animals slowly acclimate to each other, though, and for awhile things are actually pretty nice -- until her territory is suddenly invaded by an exceedingly strange glowan.

PERSONALITY/INTERESTS:

• very bubbly and easily excitable around the other Nightsiders
• overall very positive and determined
• charisma machine; usually the one who does the talking when they get in trouble -- or at least finishes the talking once one of the others manages to dig them in deeper
• very tactile; loves to sculpt/build all sorts of little structures
• extremely afraid of getting hurt once she strikes out on her own -- both because no one can help her, and because it might leave scars that can distinguish her from a distance :(
• she's managed to get a rechargeable battery setup for her little tablet/phone together, but doesn't use it often; usually resorts to talking to herself or whatever animals are nearby

DESIGN NOTES:

• about 5'3"
• very thick, semi-curly hair; she cuts it all short under two days after her pupils come in and she leaves Kha City and finds she actually loves it
• older aeros is pretty buff from the day-to-day chores she does to keep her little shelter running smoothly
• ears usually either stick straight out or droop slightly
• favors very simple clothing and sturdy boots
