Ataru is a lionfish/octoling hybrid, where he came from it is unknown and only they know of his own where-abouts. Despite his intimidating height, Ataru is actually quite friendly and would never want to bother anyone. Along with that, he’s very competitive and enjoys partaking in ranked battles whenever possible.

During battles Ataru is considered the anchor of his group, mainly using a hydra splatting to target those who are trying to push their way to mid. They’re very skilled at using this weapon, using it ever since they started playing turf wars.

His best friend is Briar, who he met during middle school and is their current roommate in an apartment in Splatsville.
