catharsis

catharsis is a rock creature. there is a subtle glow beneath its exterior surface, changing depending upon the light. its tendrils can extend (or retract fully) to great lengths and are used for gathering as well as movement. catharsis can reach a top speed of 10 cm/s, though most of the time it moves only a few cm an hour. it scavenges on the forest floor and sleeps in the roots of trees.

every full moon the rocks gather to call into the night. their screeches can be heard for miles.
