Renwei is a qilin. He has innate ability to wield dark magic and is deemed evil by the village. One night as the villagers chases and tries to kill him, Ao Yue, the dragon that resides on the mountain near the village, saves him. Renwei lives under Ao Yue’s protection and teaching ever since. Until one day, when Renwei was away, the villagers went and kill Ao Yue. When Renwei found this out, he went mad and hunted all the involved villagers. In doing this he felt himself losing control of the dark magic in him and sealed it, hence the seal on his neck (It works more like a limiter, he can still use the dark magic if needed).
Renwei keeps Ao Yue’s dragon core in hope of reviving him one day. He resides at the same mountain as Ao Yue, and is now referred as the evil god. He demands a sacrifice of a teenage boy every 10 years. He then uses the boy in hope of making them into Ao Yue’s new vessel.
His red coat is a sentient creature that once was a red deer with golden bones. It can move on its own but can’t talk.
