Noir, Detective

REGULAR / SEMI-COMIC-INSPIRED / NOIR / LAW ENFORCEMENT / IMMORTAL

BISEXUAL — TAKEN

PROBABLY NOT OPEN FOR BREEDINGS

they're all around me
circling like vultures
they wanna break me
and wash away my colors

my way with words is rather
crude and blunt at best
I traumatize your heart
then ask for sentiment
  • your typical noir detective: trenchcoat, whiskey, coffee and smokes
  • was different once but got kidnapped by a cult member who wanted to sacrifice him to a demon to get immortality
  • didn't expect the ritual to actually work or the demon to choose, now Noir's got the immortality and the other guy is dead
  • many monologues, surpressed feelings and snarky commentary
  • probably sleeps max 4 hours a week and only showers in the rain
  • very self-sacrificial, couldn't care less about his own safety... after all, he can't die anyway
  • will gladly throw himself in danger's path anytime to save someone else
  • born in 1911 to French Immigrants, became a Private Investigator to piss off his religious and proper parents
  • his full name is Évariste-Baptiste Noir; naturally, he prefers to go by his last name only
  • joined the Police Force in 1940 because they made him choose between the Army and the Police
  • officially died in 1941 when he was sacrificed by a cult member
  • came back somehow and kept working for the police, has also been living and working in the same city since then
  • big cities are great for anonymity; barely anyone has yet to realize he has been alive for over 110 years
  • just wants to make the world a better place but gets increasingly pessimistic
  • mainly due to the bad things that keep happening to him and other people
  • until, in modern times, he meets someone who turns his whole world upsite down
  • and gives him a new reason to keep fighting
He wanted to tell him so many things, confess to him on his knees, like he had done as a small child in church.
Faith had been his anchor a long time ago, before he was faced with demons of his own and of others’ makings.
He had drowned himself again and again, searching for something new to hold on to at the bottom of the ocean;
but now, he had found a lifeboat.
