The Creators (Also known as Elemental Gods to mortals) are the seven Gods who worked together to create the DEMENTIONS. Selfless, and caring to their creations, when the Gods later abandoned the DEMENTIONS and its mortal creatures, the Creators could not go on with their greif and chose to sleep eternally in the original plane. They're not watching over the land, but they haven't abandoned them either.
All genderless and gendered at the same time. Any pronoun, any body type. They change constantly. When they are bipedal/anthro they are taking on forms to challenge mortals. When they are feral it is their true form, and the form they are most comfortable in.
Statues are found across the DEMENTIONS, roughly one in each respective DEMENTION. Those to believe in the Gods say that the Elementals are sleeping inside these statues. Others believe them to be good luck charms, or bad luch, depending on your outlook on life. Strange things happen in the DEMENTIONS, but even stranger things happen around these statues.
☾FOREST (Elk) is the god of nature. Created the trees and flowers and herbs. Forest's statue is by Lau's home in the southern forest of Hylia. Lau mentions seeing it once when he was very young, but never again despite living next to it. Reserved, spiritual, and dedicated.
☾FIRE (Alligator) is the god of Earth. Created the craters and mountains of the DEMENTIONS. Fire's statue is at the top of Windskatti's mountains by Shi's old village. Alone at the peak but welcoming to any who take on their challenge. Hearty, passionite, and loving.
☾WATER (Otter & Catfish) is the god of water, rivers, oceans, etc. Created the DEMENTION's water systems and helped with the life that fills them. The otter and catfish act as one God in two bodies, although the otter usually chokeslams the catfish anytime they are depicted. Statue is beneath a powerful waterfall by the lakes in Lovein, unbroken and waiting. Free spirited, uplifting, and supportive.
☾DESERT (Boar) is the creator of the deserts, but more importantly the community that comes with little to have. Statue is located in Northern Hylia/Southern Lovein, next to the Lovein Black Market. (The thing about DEMENTIONS is there's a giant wall dividing all different places but in the story both Hylians and Loveins have visited this statue so I need to pick a place one day lmao) Many mortals make a holiday of giving offerings and painting Desert's statue. Again, this is either for good luck or to say thanks to the Gods, depending on what you believe in. Lau mentions to have done this with his mom once! Harsh, compassionite, giving.
☾Shadow (Rat) is the god of shadows and civilizations. The liminal spaces of the DEMENTIONS and the things that are not seen are home to Shadow! A supportive role, helped the Creators with their duties as Shadow stood behind them, paitently waiting. The Shadow statue hasn't been written yet. Idk where it is. Supportive, tricky, and adaptable.
☾MIND (Dove) is the god of laws. Created the way things are in the DEMENETIONS. This is very subjective?? Because do DEMENTION people have freewill or did Mind already make it? There's also a lot of responsibility on one God to create everything. I like to think Forest made lil critters like rabbits one day and they started floating away so Minds like "shit hang on" and then created gravity. Mind's statue is located on the top peak of the Xlukan capital. Her statue is the last thing you see when you're thrown off the cliff in exile. Lawful, fragile, elegant.
☾THE LIGHT BROTHERS (Wolves) are no more important than the other Creators BUT are super important in the story. They are regarded as ONE creator. It is called the seven elements despite being eight bodies because the brothers are two sides of the same coin. LIGHT (white) and DARK (dark) created spirits and souls respectively. Little whisps to keep the Gods entertained. Unlike the critters of fish and rabbits like the other made, spirits and souls had (somewhat) autonomy and awareness. Light later gave his spirits the gift of their own bodies and diversity in return for mortality, and the souls kept their whispy forms but take on either animals of the original creators. The Brothers later broke out into war following their own creations, and have been the only God to weild a weapon and injure another God. When the Gods abandoned the mortals, Dark sealed himself up in a statue but Light chose to watch over the departed spirits in the afterlife. Light is the ONLY Creator that is not eternally sleepin.
