Kithood

Beechkit was born to two ShadowClan warriors- Splitpelt and Goldensky. The two were a fairly young couple, and more then a few cats believed that they were going too fast- only a few moons after their mateship was announced, they asked Smokestar for a marriage ceremony. He performed it for them- and they've been happy ever since.

But cats watched, and waited. If things failed..well...they would know.

However, it seemed things were going well- and when Goldensky gave birth to her litter of kits, Splitpelt was ecstatic. There were two kits, a brown tabby tom with mostly white fur, and cream tabby she-cat with white paws. The tom, Goldensky named him Beechkit, after her favorite type of tree. The she-cat, Splitpelt named Honeykit, as her pelt reminded him of honey, and he was hoping she would sweet, just like it.

Beechkit and Honeykit were as thick as thieves. They did everything together, played, listened to stories, bothered the older cats. Where one was, the other was not far behind. The young kits even liked playing pranks on other cats, giving them scares as they got up to dangerous activities. Their parents weren't too concerned- the kits were young and rambunctious- it was a given at this age. The two parents themselves could still remember when they were kits and what they wanted to do but their parents wouldn't let them.

That should have been the warning sign that things were going to go south.

It was raining that day, raining hard. Goldensky wouldn't let Beechkit and Honeykit go out to play, and it annoyed them. So they hatched a plan to sneak out that night even if the raining didn't let up.

But luck was with them- the rain pettered out to a stop during dusk, and soon night came. Both Beechkit and Honeykit were awake. They were excited for their plan coming to frutation. Things were cool at night. There was so many new things, and even the old things looked new. The camp was like a whole new playground at night.

It was even luckier that they chose a night where the guard was tired from overworking themselves. They were easily able to creep around without the cat noticing, even while giggling to themselves. They reached a tree at the edge of camp, with a small circle of rocks surrounding it and looked up at it with wide eyes.

That is until Beechkit dared his sister to climb it. She gave a small laugh, and replied only if he did it first. They both agreed to go for the first low hanging branch- they were almost apprentices anyway, it would be fine. The game was set, and Beechkit started up.

It was hard. It was tough. But after a good solid 10 minutes, Beechkit managed to get up, huffing and puffing. The branch was a bit slippery from the rain, but Beechkit kept his balance. He gave a victorious smile down at his sister, as she gave a quiet shout of excitement. He told her to wait for him to get down, and then it was her turn.

She was quicker then him. It only took 7 minutes for her to get up, and she wasn't even out of breath like he was. It didn't bother Beechkit- no he was proud of his sister! She was going to be a great warrior! The tom stood up and gave her a grin, and Honeykit could help but give a little jump of excitement.

It was the last thing she would do.

Instead of landing down on her paws, the she-cat slipped on the wet branch, letting out a startled yelp as she started tumbling down. Beechkit could only watch in horror as she flipped through that air, losing balance and hurtling towards the ground quickly. And then-

CRACK.

Honeykit hit the rocks near the bottom of the tree, headfirst. There was no saving her- she was dead from the impact. A blood splatter hit Beechkit's face- he was that close to the impact zone.

And then things started...fading out. Sounds became muffled, sights blurry. He swore he could hear his mother and father's voice, and felt someone ushering him away from scene. Everything after that became a blur. The next few days were a blur. Even the next few weeks were a blur.

Beechkit was on autopilot, and he only finally came out of it a few days before his apprentice ceremony, when he realized his sister wasn't going to be here with him.

He cried that night. And the following nights, until the day of his ceremony came.

Apprenticeship

Beechkit became Beechpaw, and his face was blank. He showed no excitement for his ceremony, no excitement for his new mentor- Sprucefeather, and no excitement for being able to finally leave camp. Why should he? Honeykit was supposed to be here with him. How could he enjoy his ceremony when she was dead?!

And she wasn't...because of him.

Beechpaw never told anyone that Honeykit's death was his fault. That it was his idea for them to climb the tree, and that it was his idea to go out at night. That if he didn't goad Honeykit...she would be standing here with him, gaining her name and her mentor.

He couldn't enjoy it, not now, not ever. Honeykit wasn't here. And she wouldn't ever be here with him.

Sprucefeather was at a lose of what to do with his apprentice. Oh Beechpaw trained, and went through the motions of hunting and battle practice- but he did so without showing any enthusiasm. Any time he was called out on it, the young tom would snap at the offender- causing them to back off in fear of upsetting the tom even more.

Even his parents seem to be keeping their distance- though whether from Beechpaw's attitude or the fact that they were still grieving over their other kit's death no one knew.

The combination of his parents not giving him the support he needed and his mentor not really knowing how to deal with Beechpaw's emotional state, made Beechpaw lash out even more

Warriorhood

Beechpaw earned the name Beechflight, for his speed in both battle and hunting. The clan was estatic- but in a distant way. After all the tom has been moody for all of his apprenticeship, and still was snappish to his peers around him. Sprucefang was silently relieved that he didn't have to supervise Beechflight anymore, as the tom was still a handful.

It only grew worse the next couple of moons- Honeykit was supposed to be here with him, to earn her warrior name with Beechflight. But she wasn't. It was him...all alone.

It seemed though, finally someone wanted to do something about it.

Because at only 20 moons old, Beechflight recieved an apprentice, Beetlepaw. The tom was shocked- for once in his life he was something other then angry and bitter. No...he was happy once, when Honeykit was still alive. But he hadn't been since.

Beetlepaw was....nice. Friendly, energetic.

Beetlepaw was exactly as Honeykit was, as Honeykit would have been if she lived long enough to become an apprentice. It was whiplash for Beechflight.

The tom quickly learnt not to snap or be harsh to Beetlepaw, as it would only feel like he was doing the same to his deceased sister, and that hurt too much for him to even try it. Beechflight was being...friendly again. He was being patient again, nice again.

The tom was learning to live again.

And with him being nice to his apprentice, being able to handle his apprentice, the clan slowly started to approach Beechflight again. He wasn't lashing out, he wasn't snapping at anyone- Beechflight was becoming a part of the communnity that was clan life.

As the moons passed, Beechflight started gaining new skills. He started gaining a patience he didn't have before, he started being able to difuse situations before they blew up, he started to be able to strike up a conversation with almost any cat in the clan. Things were great for Beechflight- though he still hadn't approached his parents, nor have they approached him.

And then, near the end of his apprentice's training, they announced that they were expecting kits again. Soon, the kits were born, and they were two sisters, named Birchkit and Pinekit. After the theme of his name, his parents claimed.

Beechflight didn't know what to do with them.

In fact, the tom didn't even approach them until they were apprentices themselves. He had more important things to worry about, like his apprentice becoming a warrior- earning the name Beetlenose for his sense of smell. Beechflight was so proud of the tom.

When his siblings finally became apprentices, Beetlenose told Beechflight he had to cat up and talk to his sisters, because else they'd think he hated them. Beechflight...wasn't sure if he did or not- especially cause his parents were still not talking to him, and Beechflight not talking to them.

But when he finally sat down and spoke to them for the first time...well, they gained another protector in their lives. Beechflight would do anything for them- and feel in love with them as soon as he talked to them.

They were his sisters, and he would protect them no matter what.

Deputyship

Beechflight was surprised when ---star named him deputy after --- had to retire. Yes he had been doing better then when he was a young warrior and apprentice. Yes he had been able to disperse arguments easily. Yes more of the clan actually liked him now. But deputy?

It was only thanks to his sisters and former apprentice's support that he was able to step forward and accept ---star's appointment.

The next coming moons ---star helped Beechflight get used to his new responsibilities- and he was ever thankful. Beechflight really had no idea what to do, but with ---star's help he was able to get it down. Surprisingly he became even more popular in the clan, as he was an approchable deputy. Cats who had issues with each other always went to him for help.

Strengths
  • Beechflight has speed- he is able to quickly blitz his opponents before they are even able to prepare for him.
  • Beechflight has a very keen sense of sight and pretty high accuracy. When he jumps after his prey, he 80% of the time lands it.
  • He's patient and calm, meaning he will be able to deal with even the most troublesome of his clanmates with ease.
  • He tend to think outside of the box because of his ideas of perfection.
Weaknesses
  • While Beechflight has speed, his actual attacking power and defense is left a bit lackluster. His blows tend to not have much punch to them and he usually gets rattled if a hit lands on him.
  • Beechflight has a minor fear of heights, so he can't hunt bids well, and he prefers not to jump high. He cannot climb into the trees for prey either.
  • Beechflight tends to bottle all his issues, not dealing with them unless he really has too. This has the tendency to make him explode when he actually reaches his boiling point.
  • His phobias with water and rain make it that hes unable to work during any kind of rainstorm-as the rain continues on, he slowly starts to just not really function.

Notes
  • Beechflight is not only hesitant on deicisions and unaggressive, he sometimes doesn't get sleep because of his nightmares and phobias, making him more tired and slower- aka Sloth.

  • Piperpaw is people person- but he prefers it if they follow the rules too. As setting clear and consise steps help him not get nearly as distracted as he usually does.
