History (Needs review/revamp)

Rhombi had a rough childhood. Though born above ground, he has very few memories of that life. What he does remember is a sunlit world full of life. Early in kittenhood, though, he ended up in the catacombs. He's not sure quite how he got there, but he wishes it didn't happen. He had a tough, lonely childhood in the caves. AHe remembered the light, nature, and beautiful world he lived in. The ideas, language, and images stuck with him and kept him going so he could one day return. As a kitten, he stumbled upon a dying bear, which he tried to help, but he wasn't able to. Rhombi misunderstood the situation, thinking the bear had died due to his 'helping' rather than the rockfall that had trapped it in there. This left him traumatized -- he decided to never try to help anyone else, as it would just end in more deaths. He soon after met Jill the Phobug, who he became close with and talked to a lot.

He aged into a full mothcat while in the caves. During his time in the catacombs, he developed crystals in his fur, adjusted to the dark and solumn caves, and figured out he needed to fend for himself and prioritize himself over anything else. However, Rhombi learned that Jill had met another bug and fallen in love -- he then befriended this Vivi, a glowbug. He decided that helping himself and his miniature companions was all he could do, regardless of the others he encountered, which were very sparse. However, he did meet a cat in the caves around this time. He inadventently caused her death. She and him were playing around near a chasm when he pushed her playfully. In that moment, the adverb lost all signifigance. She fell off the ledge, supposedly to her death. Her fall was followed by pained wailing and eventually, silence. Little does Rhombi know, she survived and looked for him for weeks. To this day, she hasn't forgotten their times together. Of course, Rhombi never knew this, and he didn't eat or do much for many days. Another mysterious cat he hardly remembers brought him back from his depair, but due to his lack of right-mind at the time, he can't remember the cat. Much of the event he's blocked out, but he did not forget the wailing from the other cat as she fell.

A while after his recovery, exploration teams ventured down into the catacombs, allowing him to find his way out by following their paths. Because he had never seen so many cats, he was inspired to follow them down, where they found Abra and the odd mothcats. In the big battle, all he could think of were the deaths... yet he knew he needed to help. So he did, and this time, it worked. They defeated Abra, all together.

He hasn't been underground nearly as long as some of the cats who have forgotten gender, love, and sun. He came above ground to a world he was ready to love. He discovered his love for nearly everything above ground, including the beautiful sceneries, the cats, and most importantly, so many animals! He loves the ocean and his new friends, including Aria, who helps him learn about this new world, and Marley, who loves his cave stories. He made one especially important new friend: Teeny. Teeny is super close with him, and almost like Rhombi's personal guide-to-life -- albeit a very silly one!

Relationships

Bonnie [ boss ]

Rhombi works for Bonnie's Pack of Strays, a non-profit organization. Even though they're about the same age, Rhombi sees her as a mentor figure. He looks up to her for all the progress she's been able to make in starting Pack of Strays and making a difference, and admires her charisma and leadership. Bonnie trusts Rhombi with some of the more important tasks and knows he will be responsible with the tasks he's given.

Alicia [ friend / crush ]

These two are crushing on each other, and it's pretty obvious to every one else, but neither of them seems to know the other feels the same way. They spend a lot of time going to community activies, or hikes and seeing cool nature scenery, especially watching sunsets together. Rhombi is also a bit reluctant to admit his feelings to himself.

Marley [ friend ]

Marley listens to some of his stories, enjoying the prank-side of things. He helps Rhombi see a modern, earnest version of his old life with more silliness and pranks, and less solemn, sad details!

Aria [ friend ]

Aria is a friend who helps introduce Rhombi to the world. She's a friendly help and enjoys helping him grow from his past, rather than regretting it.

The Wanderer & Autumn [ relationship ]

The Wanderer occassionally takes Rhombi with him on trips to find beautiful natural wonders of the world. Autumn is The Wanderer's partner, and has gone on adventures with The Wanderer and Rhombi. Through these adventures, Rhombi and her have become good friends!
