cicero initially served as the captain of velka's army within the painted world of ariamis until siding with gwyn in the war against dragons, later bestowed with knighthood and a fragment of the lord soul by the lord of sunlight himself. cicero's affiliation with velka is kept hidden due to gwyn's hatred of the goddess of sin, though he retains aspects of his former allegiance to his mother, wielding the crow quills infused with occult power, donning stark black armor, and being titled 'crowspeaker cicero'...holding an obvious affinity for his birthright animal.
despite having such a dark apperance unbefitting of his lord of sun, cicero is worshiped and adored by the people of lordran, with whom he communicates and settles disputes for gwyn. he exists as the public face of anor londo, its gods, and the five knights; perhaps even as a tool of propaganda. he holds great faith in gwyn, though his loyalty wavers as the truth of the age of fire comes to light, and he begins to harbor regret towards his unintentional betrayal towards his beloved mother.
cicero maintains a complicated relationship with his own powers, as he fears for the worst; should man's deepest, darkest desires be of evil intent, he dreads himself to be the cause of such heinous actions, and desperately attempts to suppress his charm over others. however, as a deity and conduit of the sin his mother preaches, there is only so much he can do to hide his true self--and the true self of others.

cicero rarely removes his armor, and as such his visage remains unknown to just about everyone; despite appearing feminine underneath, his armor hides all semblance of gender, and the helm warps and deepens his voice. much of cicero's true identity lies shrouded in mystery, even to those he holds close. (note that i haven't designed the helm yet lol...)

when drawing, it is highly preferred he be in his armor--artists are welcome to simplify or stylize it in what way they wish! if without armor, nude or in the black bodysuit is fine idc
