Sil

Sil is a half dragon (half human). Among mystical folk that makes his social standing fairly low. He was displaced at a very young age, and without even a clan name to back him, found himself the unfortunate victim of trade in underground markets. Currently he serves under a human magician who bought his orb several years back. 

Dragon soul orbs (also called dragon pearls or gems) are an incredible source of magical energy. They are the physical manifestation of a dragon's life essence, and in other communities are valued as a boon to one's own magical prowess. They are capable of granting immunity from certain elements, extending life and health, and giving one access to a dragon's innate abilities among other things. 

Traditionally within dragon culture, an orb is only given to another individual as a symbol of great trust and kinship, or as a gesture of commitment to a life long partner. Possessing one is literally a means of putting one's soul in another's hands. Every dragon only has one, and typically keeps it on their person or stashed within a hoard or home to keep it safe.

Standing at 7'2" Sil is able to give off a fairly intimidating air, and quite frequently turns visitors away from his master's home. In conversation he's very reserved but polite, typically keeping to himself. He's not the only mystical creature under contract there, and often gets along with Blair, a lady Kitsune who arrived shortly before he did. He's also fallen hard for the Phoenix Kyoi, whom he was charged with watching over due to their opposing elements.
