PERSONALITY

Thistlefang is an oddball. They're usually seen with a large smirk, observing the going ons of the Clan. The quiet cat is highly observant and takes very good note of the personality traits and habits of those around them. She's sneaky and likes to creep up on her friends and Clanmates to give them a little scare when she can. It's his way of showing he cares. While Thistlefang seems unnerving from their strangely ominous comments, they're a loyal and kind friend who will do anything to protect those that they care about. She's highly dedicated to hunting and will actively do whatever she can to help the Clan's elders, queens, and kits. He doesn't take well to threats against his home and will sit guard with a deadly quiet focus.

Thistlefang would rather not fight and will instead come up with any excuse under the sun to get out of going into battle. Anything from a belly ache to purposefully getting stung by a be just to get out of an upcoming battle. After the battle, however, they will use their joker personality to try and keep their Clanmates in high spirits. Thistlefang has a system they use to let others know what pronouns to use for them at any given time. He will mention seeing certain insects, butterfly for feminine pronouns, beetle for gender-neutral pronouns and bee for masculine pronouns. They will often slip these into conversations to alert their Clanmates to what pronouns feel the best at that point in time.

Thistlefang will often zone out and it isn't uncommon for them to be left behind by their patrol when this happens. They'll often be found gazing wistfully out into the trees, deep in thought. This never seems to happen when they're hunting or on guard duty, but Thistlefang seems strangely easy to distract. Thistlefang is a very nervous cat despite their confident exterior. They'll stick close to cats they have a strong bond with unless placed in a situation where they have to interact with other cats.

HISTORY

.:Kithood:.

Out in the forest, there were two kits, Alucard and Lenore, born to a Loner named Drusilla. The twins never knew their father and Alucard never cared to ask. All they knew was that he was just some cat Drusilla had met while traversing both Clan and neutral territory. But it never mattered to her, the cat who fathered her was of little concern to her when she had her mother and sibling with her.

The two grew up on tales of the Clans, fearsome cats who fought bloody battles and healed their wounds with plants. The stories ran wild in Alucard's imagination and he often played games with Lenore where the two pretended to be Warriors. Alucard's favourite game was hide-and-seek. Ambushing their sibling was always fun and they learned to be incredibly sneaky and clever in their games. If Lenore figured out one tactic, Alucard would try something different the next time, always keeping their sibling on their toes.

Drusilla taught them how to hunt from a young age. Better to be the hunter than the hunted, after all. Alucard thrived in these lessons, enjoying every moment of them and managing to catch at least a scrawny bit of prey on most hunts. But he wasn't stupid, he noticed his mother pulling back and knew that something was wrong. She was sick... VERY sick. Together with Lenore, Alucard worked doubly hard to try and catch as much prey as possible but it wasn't enough. Their measly pickings did nothing to help their mother and Drusilla passed away.

Without their mother the twins banded together stronger than ever. Alucard put their all into hunting, trying to keep both of them fed but soon they started feeling wrong. One morning he couldn't even leave his nest as the same illness wrapped its talons around him. Days and nights blurred together as Lenore continued to try and help, but Alucard was aware that he may never pull through. Then one day, Lenore had an idea. They would wait at the border and ask the Clan cats if they could join them, using the leaves their mother had told them about to cure Alucard of her illness. What really was there to lose?

With Lenore's help, Alucard waited at the border, allowing their sibling to do the talking. Soon, they were in DewClan and life would be taking a whole new turn.

.:Apprenticehood:.

For a moon Alucard stayed in the medicine cat's den. They listened to the tales of the Clans from the comfort of the nest and asked many questions, eager to learn as much about their new home as possible. Lenore visited them often, now going by their Clan name, Batpaw. Alucard often wondered what their new name would be and felt a pit in their stomach at the knowledge that they would be giving up their name. But, he was dedicated to being a loyal member of DewClan and was ready to accept their new name.

Finally, Alucard was well enough to start her training. She was given the name Thistlepaw and was apprenticed to an old Warrior named Claystrike. The tom was a kindly cat, understanding the struggles Thistlepaw had gone through due to the illness and did everything he could to make sure Thistlepaw's apprenticeship was a happy one. Batpaw, as it turned out, was a really good fighter! Thistlepaw could never win against them, or anyone for that matter. Hunting, on the other hand, Thistlepaw shone. He loved hunting! The thrill of the hunt made her paws tingle and kept her sharp and alert like nothing else could. In fact, Thistlepaw often found her mind wandering back to the forest she'd grown up in. Was her mother proud of her?

But they soon found a purpose, they were really good at entertaining kits. Teaching the youngsters how to play hide-and-seek was great fun! Helping the queens out was also a satisfying job. When he wasn't training or entertaining kits, Thistlepaw could often be found with Batpaw. The two were as thick as thieves, exploring the territory and playing their old games. If Batpaw wasn't around she was simply observing her Clanmates, unsure of where exactly she fit into this big new home. But, it was nice to know that she was wanted and cared for. Claystrike became a father figure to Thistlepaw and he often went to him for advice. At Gatherings Thistlepaw would often keep to herself or stick close to Claystrike's side, nervous of all the new faces that surrounded her. But as they watched the other Clans one thing became clear: they never wanted to meet them in battle. These were cats who had families, friends and love for each other. Thistlepaw didn't ever want to be the one to destroy those bonds on the battlefield.

Battooth became a Warrior before them. Thistlepaw called their name as loud as she could, proud of everything that Battooth had accomplished and now determined to catch up with her sibling. Thistlepaw and Claystrike worked hard to complete Thistlepaw's training. A moon later, Thistlepaw passed their assessment with flying colours!

.:Warriorhood:.

She was named Thistlefang for her sharp fangs. Standing tall and proud, Thistlefang gladly accepted their new name. Their vigil went by smoothly, Thistlefang was as still as a rock watching the surrounding territory for any signs of danger. After his training was complete, Thistlefang was glad to help Claystrike settle into his retirement in the elder's den. They're still close and are often seen talking and laughing. Thistlefang and Battooth are still extremely close and often try to patrol together. But Thistlefang still finds herself gazing out across the forest, as if hoping that one day Drusilla will walk out of the trees and tell her how proud she is of her. What Thistlefang never says is that they believe they should have died of the illness and they feel immense guilt that they survived when others did not.

For now Thistlefang is living as a normal Warrior. But there are still many adventures to be had and they are ready to face them head on!
