Personality

Shade is an octoling, who fought her way through the subway to get to Inkopolis. Thanks to her experiences in this place, she is very easily scared and often worried. This results in her being too scared to splat others in Turf Wars! And so, to make at least some money, she works for Salmon Run, where she doesn't have to attack her teammates. She also gets very nervous very easily, especially when shit goes down in fights! She can't keep her cool and will start to flee as fast and as far as possible. She just can't deal with pressure at all.

She also is an aspiring livestreamer, who streams herself making robots and drawing. In her streams as well as in general, she is shy and very kind and sweet. However, in streams, she has a bit more courage to speak up then in real life, where, when she meets a stranger, she gets really REALLY nervous and almost can't talk. Online, she is also more open about her passions, like robots or the ocean.

Outside of streams, she often lays on her bed, listening to music, doodling or watching shows. She prefers staying alone and daydreaming, since she absolutely hates to go outside to see other beings. Also, when Splatfests take place, she only goes outside to enjoy the delicious food. She actually hates the trouble and loud noises of Splatfests, but enjoys the food to bits.

Current Situation

Shade tries to forget her dark past and instead concentrates on her current duties: Salmon Run, Livestreaming and just recovering. Her streams get more and more viewers and as "Shading06", she gets more and more popular for her robot building and art streams. Just. don't mention 8 Balls or Sea cucumbers near her. For some reason, she panics when she sees those or hears from those.

Creation

Shade was an OC I made shortly after buying and playing the Octo Expansion Pack of Splatoon 2. She always had her shy personality and her being disturbed by the happenings of the DLC (it's SO. DAMN. DIFFICULT.), but her design changed more and more over time. When I picked up Splatoon 3, I also picked up her (she was an inactive OC at that time) and revamped her!

Main Weapon

Shade fights mostly with middle range shooting weapons, which can cover a lot of ground in Ink. She concentrates rather on inking the places instead of splating!

RUN RUN RUN

When everything gets too much and her team is completely dead except of her, she gets an extreme speed boost. Which she uses to swim away as fast as possible-

Tech Nerd

Can build robots out of old machine parts. And yes, those robots actually work!

Big googles

When wearing her googles, she can see really, really far! She can also focus on other fighters for a short while.

Hackerwoman

Able to hack into several systems. Thanks to this, she skipped some levels in the subway.

Creative Mind

Is a complete daydreamer and has so much creativity, she almost doesn't know what to do with it-

Backstory

An Octoling woke up in the subways. She searched for a way out. And found a strange phone and a sea cucumber. They told her she had to solve some tests to get to the surface. And so, she did. Well, she tried. The tests were hardcore. Destroying all targets with one shot, getting attacked by thousands of enemies, leading an 8-Ball through a tough parcour... it was hell.

After solving all the levels after months and hacking those she couldn't get through, she faced the boss, who looked like an inkling. She tried to beat them so often, but never managed to defeat them. Until they had luck and, thanks to panicking, they defeated the other inkling.

Shade woke up from her dream and she actually escaped the subway! And beside her were some googles, which she would keep with her to always remind her where she came from. But thanks to this strange adventure, she is terribly scared nowadays. Especially of 8-Balls and Sea Cucumbers.

Species Lore

Octolings are a canon species from Nintendo's Splatoon. They are playable since Splatoon 2 and are very similar to Inklings. They resemble Octopus and are able to turn into one, or their usual humanoid form. They can use weapons to shoot ink, swim as a Octopus in said ink and their hair is made out of Octopus tentacles.

Shade is a Octoling, who has tentacles as hair. She escaped the Subway and was one of the first Octolings in Inkopolis, which made her pretty famous. And she hates it-.
