Alvalor

A powerful archdevil who lords over the Infernal Library in the Nine Hells, he seeks knowledge, power, and control. His main method of obtaining such is to forge deals with mortals: forbidden knowledge from the depths of his library in exchange for their soul upon death. What many fail to realize is that many of those terrible books contain the souls of those already taken from mortal beings, and could easily corrupt the minds of the those not strong enough to withstand. In order to spread his influence and trap more souls Alvalor employs the services of the Malilibri Cult, who see him as their patron god of knowledge.

Alvalor once had a powerful hellhound by the name of Rathenlok under his command to carry out this task with much more efficiency than the Cult could achieve. However, the beast was slain and it's soul was bound to a paladin by the name of Mathew Gelling, who became a tiefling due to it's corruption. Many generations later, Alvalor learned that Rathenlok had finally been reincarnated, and now seeks to regain his prized beast.
