Before meeting Aaron, Brant worked as a bounty hunter. In the region he works in he is known as the "northern sword", as well as "tiger sword" due to the tiger (Tessa) that always followed him. He never really questioned himself about Tessa appearance 10 years ago, when a strange tiger started following him and never leaving his side throughout the years.

After meeting Aaron, who gave his guardian the ability to return to her nearly human form. Brant was quite surprised. He doesn't mind Tessa as a human, albeit he sometimes wished she wasn't as boisterous, as when she's a tiger she generally pretty calm.
