The wife of Zhao Yun, Ri Zan is a Compassionate and open minded individual who treats everyone she meets with an equal respect and kindness, ally and enemy alike. She is an extremely virtuous woman, and her kindness and happy attitude can make her seem like a bit of an airhead at times. Despite being somewhat oblivious at times, Ri Zan is anything but stupid, and never acts without thinking. She always has an optimistic air about her, and does everything she can to keep it that way, though her emotions often show on her face, making her rather easy to read. in return, Ri Zan was also rather intuitive herself, and it was hard to get a lie past her. Ri Zan does have a sterner side, but this is primarily reflected when she fears a friend, or even a person in general, is acting without regard for their own life. Despite her rather fragile look, Ri Zan is more than capable of handling herself in battle, much to the concern of her dear husband at times.
Ri Zan was as devoted to her husband as he was his lord. Ri Zan was more than willing to put everything on the line for Zhao Yun, and trusted him with her life and virtue. Ri Zan always put her husbands welfare above all else, though was sometimes worried about just how far his dedications would take him, though similar could be said about Ri Zan and her own dedications. Regardless, the two loved and respected one another very much, zhao Yun sometimes showing a great amount of concern for his wife's oblivious nature and desire to fight when she can, though trusting her to be able to take care of herself when she needed to most.
