Artemis

A long-legged, wiry molly. She is a dusty calico with medium white. A pale, rosy orange dominates much of her patterning, with a dilute gray framing her eyes, mouth, a scattered as a few spots along her body. Artemis' right eye is olive green, while the other is a honeyed brown. Her skin is spotted, showing up prominently on her pawpads, ears, nose, and mucosa.

She can often be seen wearing a green bandanna around her neck with a leaf pattern on it, as well as a laurel wreath with antlers fastened to it.

+Vigilant+
They say nothing escapes Artemis' eye. She can spot danger from tree-lengths away, and it's difficult for something- or someone- to sneak up on her.

+Nature Lover+
Artemis loves her forest, and she's certain the forest loves her back. The trees, the leaves, the fauna- she seeks to protect it all, no matter the cost.

+Honest+
You will almost never hear a lie fall from this cat's lips. She is honest to a fault; even if her honesty is unwanted.

-Obstinate-
Once Artemis has formed an opinion about you, it is very difficult for her to change her worldview. She will defend the seemingly righteous against any injustice, and those who are fit with her scorn will find themselves hard-pressed to avoid it.

-Reclusive-
It is very rare for Artemis to leave her forest. She feels a pang of anxiety to be without it, and panics in open, treeless spaces.

-Abrasive-
To those Artemis does not like, Artemis can be downright hostile towards. She is not one to hide her feelings unless she herself is not sure of her feelings.

{Kithood}
Artemis was born alongside her brother deep within the greens of the forest, from an ex-kittypet who bolted from her home so her kits would not be taken from her like her last litter. Her mother will ill-suited to the wilds, but always gave thanks for the little gifts nature left them; a nice hollow to sleep in, or a lucky meal. Artemis was raised with this same mindset. Were it not for a loner by the name of Boone, however, they never would have survived. Boone, out of the kindness of his heart, looked after mom and kits, providing meals for them due to Artemis' mother's limited hunting skills. Artemis passed her first few moons of life in this fashion, growing into a precociuos kitten before long.

{Adolescence}
The moment Artemis was old enough, she took to hunting like a fish to water. She spent many hours with Boone perfecting her stance and practicing her stalking. In her, Boone found an excellent student; much more so than her lazy (at least to her) brother. Boone called her a protege, jokingly, and she came to know and love the forest and it's many intricacies. She constantly bickered with her brother who, despite her seeming disdain for him, was still quite close.

{Adulthood}
Once the kits were old enough to fend for themselves and help provide for their mother, Boone decided to move on. He enjoyed his time with the family, but the kits weren't his own; the mother, not his mate. Of all of them, Artemis was the most regretful to see him go, and demanded to go with him, to learn more about hunting. He agreed, and promises to leave with her at sunrise. Eager, she went to sleep, wanting to get a good night's rest for the traveling she would inevitably do. There was a heavy storm that night, so much so that Artemis didn't even hear Boone sneak off somewhere in the night.

When the rain ceased and the sun peaked out from the horizon, Artemis awoke to find their temporary family one member smaller. She was furious, an insisted on finding him. Despite her best efforts, however, she was unable to track him; the rain had washed any trace of scent away. Crestfallen, she still decided to travel, hoping to find some new place to call home. So she did. She traveled for several moons until she came to find her current home; the forest just outside the territories. It has given her shelter and peace, and she now guards it with her life, scrutinizing all who walk under the canopy.
