Originally created to copy and use elementals powers, thoses experiences were too unstable to work and Vaneck is the only individual who survived. As an illegal and secret activity, all the labs that were doing this experiment were closed not long after and Djinn's father took them in. Djinn and Vaneck became very good friends, good enough that when Vaneck was employed to be a royal scientist, he worked alongside Djinn at the same time. His friend inherited the leader role of the kinda mafia from his father, and the presence of Vaneck in his rank (plus the fact that Djinn was wayy more good and pacific than his dad's ideals) gave the organisation tolerance from the king.
