He communes with the Dark for a lot of his power, having a close relationship with it. He was able to pull Minecha's lost Dragon Soul from the dark and used it find and capture her.
Sensing her relationship to the Moon and that she is a dragon, she proved to be very valuable in running The League and completing his missions to find artifacts and materials for his cause.
