Story
Aylin grew up under the watchful eye of her maternal grandparents. Due to an unfortunate accident, her parents passed away when Aylin was six. Due to this she has been an only child and grew up with faint memories of her parents. Lumosyne is a quiet small planet, and has no monarchy. They have an elected community of ten people who serve the public. Each year they must be re-elected by the planet with a maximum of 5 years on the board. The community is very strict on what can and cannot be done and for the most part the planet has flourished and has no qualms with any neighbouring planets. It has no armies, though it houses some of the most powerful raw nature magic in the dimension and those who can wield it. Each community has its own colour schemes and aesthetics that makes them unique. Aylin lives in a quaint yellow cottage with her grandparents with sunflower fields surrounding most of the area. Not far from there the elf community resides in the forested area.
Her grandfather, Callisto, was a magical blacksmith by trade. He was one of the best in the magical dimension, forging weapons (swords being his speciality) for many royals and non alike. His skills of being able to infuse magic into his craft was taught to him by elves. After he married his wife, Astraea, and a long battle of being proven worthy to his new in-laws, he was granted a spot in their workshop. He was, by far, one of the older apprentices, but he also ended up proving his worth by being top of the group. He won the respect of the community and was always welcomed back to them. Her grandfather has retired mostly from blacksmithing, but will still occasionally take on a special order if needed. Aylin's grandmother Astraea hails from a small community of elves in Lumosyne. Her magical power stems from the nature around her and she found she has an aptitude for the studies of plants and herbs. She keeps a small garden of different sorts of plants and herbs, some common and others more rare. Due to her skills, she was consulted on varies diseases and cures. But her knowledge didn't stop there, she also sold amazing spices that can now be found all across the magical dimension. Aylin always said that her grandmother's cooking skills were the best in the universe.
Aylin unlocked her magic around the age of ten when she was tending the garden with her grandmother. She was the one that managed to piece together her magic came from the moon and was strongest in its glow. Though through some safe testing, it was determined that cloud cover did not damper the strength, but the new moon weakened it. The elves took interest in her connection to the moon, as it was not a typical nature magic and through her grandmothers and mothers parentage they welcomed her among their students and she got her early education through them. By the time she was to turn sixteen, Aylin possessed a superior mastery over her magic and was eager to join Alfea to continue to hone her skills even more. Her mark upon her forehead had appeared a year earlier at her fifteenth birthday and the elves took it as a sign that she had learnt all she could with them (and was also proof that elvish blood ran through her veins, even with her human appearance).
