Bio:
For most of his life, Barbed Scale believed he was a dragon. He was born in a dragon family, but he always felt different. He learned that he could project spikes from his body and could channel them from the ground. One day, he and a few friends were attacked by an unknown predator, and he use his spike ability to protect him and them. And then something shocking happened, Barbed earned a mark on his flank, revealing he wasn't full dragon. Not feeling like he fit in anymore, he ran away from home.
After days on the run and learning to survive on his own, Barbed met an alicorn decked out in armor. She revealed her name to be Vanguard, and that Barbed was not full dragon, but also part pony, and had earned his cutie mark and was destined to use his power to protect others from harm. Vanguard offered to have Barbed join her to help protect Equestria.
