he has a familiar named neelam that feeds on positive emotions. it also likes skittles, and celestine bribes it with them (haven't decided WHAT kind of creature the familiar is yet)
she was adopted into the astaris family along with her biological sibling when they were 6, and 4 respectedly. the astaris are an old and powerful family, and as intimidating as that might seem it had never felt like the cold, aristrocratic enviroments that you'd expect from such an archaic bloodline and that has everything to do with shahar astaris. her adoptive father is a kind and eccentric man to put it simply, and when he first took on the astaris family "birthright" he decided that he was going to dismantle a lot of the old and outdated ways that were perpetuated and do things his own way. the astaris manor has always felt very warm and homey to celestine, her siblings (bio and adoptive), the loyal staff, family friends, and all the beings who have come and gone throughout the years
celestine is a versatile sorceress who has shown interest in enchantments and rune magic since she was younger but being surrounded by so many different mages growing up had given her the oppurtunity to dabble in different forms of magic and so while enchantments may be her main affinity she is still a wildcard with how many sub-affinities she has under her belt
she is labelled as a prodigy of her age group and while she doesn't deny that truth she also acknowledges that there are many who are more powerful than her and that she wants there to be other mages who reach her level. (she's not very competetive, and it frusrates a lot of people)
she’s notably eccentric (takes after shahar), likes to do things out of the box, and really can’t keep her nose out of stuff she shouldn’t be involved in even if she tried, but she means well! an unapologetic busy body and hedonist who would do almost anything for those close to her heart
