- Gale is way too serious for his own good, and way too serious for someone his own age. He has long since forgotten what it was like to be a kid, and essentially gave up part of his childhood and most of his teenage life in order to be a hunter. He does what he does, and he usually does it without any bravado or fanfare or want of fame. However, he has a really bad habit of wanting to do everything solo, rather than depend on someone else, and does not necessarily do well in learning to rely on other people. He can be good natured, if not a little stiff and more than a little stoic - though when angered he can be snippy and cold. The last thing he wants is to be treated as a child or be disregarded by those older than he.
- Gale is the kind of guy who likes to be involved in things, and is always on the move. He tends to spend his time training and working on becoming stronger. He's extremely focused; what he does, he does carefully, and if he fails, he'll keep trying until he succeeds. He's both very intelligent and very calm and subtle in what he does - meaning that though he likes to have fun, he doesn't like to make a big deal out of it or draw too much attention to himself; the kind of guy who prefers to do things because he wants to, rather than for an audience.
- He hates being called a kid more than anything, and he sometimes spends too much time on one thing and forgets everything else. Gale is not the best communicator in the world, either; most of the time he keeps things internalized, holding back what he really thinks and feels. While he's not OCD, he likes things neat and organized, and he doesn't have a lot of personal effects; Gale goes for simplicity, rather than extravagance.
- Gale used to have a twin sister, Leslie, but she will remain in the pods and will most likely never wake up. It is something that will always haunt him.
- He has been together with his girlfriend Stormy for almost two years, and they currently live together.
