Atticus is a businessman who lives in the Nexus, a hub and melting pot connecting different dimensions together. He is one of Eve’s benefactors, they both made a pact years ago where he provides funding and in return she helps in breakthroughs involving … scientific necromancy.
He came from a respected family line with high expectations, but due to familial tension and neglect he decided to set himself apart and make it out on his own. He set out young and married young, choosing to dedicate himself to his family in a way his parents never did. Unfortunately his wife and he didn’t see eye to eye on their relationship, her wanting to sleep around and keep it open while he wanted to stay dedicated to one spouse. She also had a wild lifestyle involving partying and drugs that was becoming actively harmful to be exposing to their very young baby daughter. It reached a head and the two separated on bad terms. He kept custody of his daughter and tried to raise her and pamper her the best he could.
Then, years later she became ill and despite all that was done to help her she passed, and he was left with nothing but a painful memory. He would do anything to get her back, no matter what it takes.
He ended up buying a bearded vulture as a pet due to years of loneliness. Her name is Nycteris who is a good girl despite her owner’s spiral of integrity into the insanity of necromancy. She loves her problematic owner and gets into his cereal and pesters him out of affection.
Trivia
He is familiar with Eve creating Yuuko, and sees her and Ezra as not real people. He doesn’t agree with Eve thinking them to be gods. He considers them more like advanced objects without a soul rather than a person, because if he had to come to terms with the fact they were real beings with emotions and feelings he would have to be faced with his suppressed morals over the whole thing. Yuuko especially was used often to test her healing abilities on his dead daughter, sometimes transferring her blood and other times just being studied as if she could be the key for bringing people back to life. His daughter was a young teen like Yuuko, and it would mess him up so much if he truly came to terms about Yuuko being a real person instead of just a soulless object.
He genuinely loved his wife and tried so hard to make it work but haha things just didn’t work out.
He is HORRIBLE at being social, absolutely abysmal. He doesn’t know how to express himself anymore, (suppression much haha) except being angry sometimes. He might be genuinely complimenting someone but it comes out very stilted and intimidating.
Theres a saying that harpies have an affinity for birds, whether its true or not is hard to say, but Atticus does like birds quite a lot and likely would have more than one bird if he had the time to care for it.
Dimensional Powers
He is mixed with different dimensional races due to having ancestry in the Nexus which is a melting pot. He has harpy genes which allows him to shift his arms into wings. (but not the legs or tail because he’s more like 1/3rd harpy) The markings on his face are also a result of harpy ancestry.
He also has a form of gravity abilities where he can repel people and objects and draw them closer to him like magnets. It also is a trait many harpies have but on a much lower extreme, something that allows them to fly. Atticus has a lot more power than a harpy and can crush people with gravity abilities, its unknown if his abilities were enhanced by Eve or not.
