Somewhat wild in a charming way growing up, Malaia was the perfect example of 'do I want her or do I want to be her'.
When she eventually got married and began to settle down, she traded her vaguely dangerous miniventures for a deeper impact in community involvement and a newfounded interest in writing, fitting nicely for when she and Laurent planned out their pregnancy.
In her new chapter of her life, Malaia would prove to be a strong and capable mother to her daughter Quirkilxa and fierce protector for her family, while still maintaining a slight mischevious streak.

Malaia was born from two humble parents, her sibling Karmos following a few years later. She grew up having adventures with a group of similarly-aged children, including her future husband Laurent, and she longed for the chance to leave the town. She helped lead many journeys out into the forest, and only would get in trouble a handful of times.
She had a short stint travelling the country for a while with a few of her closest friends when they were all adults, which was the trip where she and Laurent officially became a couple. Her travels made her have a deeper appreciation for the place she grew up in and wanted to study more about the land and whatnot. Settling down, she was ready to really plant her roots here in the coming years.
A number of years later with an established career in the town's government and a healthy marriage with the cutest little baby to tie it all in, she and Laurent would decide to take a vacation to commemorate the life they made together, which is where the two would end up dying from their journeys.
