Sleazy, untrustworthy, an all around terrible specimen of a human being, Carmichael “Sham” Dunderston is a disgraced and disgruntled actor/model/cowboy/sharpshooter who is definitely still the best man around town.

Wandering the streets homeless with plenty of debts to go around, he’s managed to get himself into a whole new world of trouble with his latest adventure, falling in with a group of “ragtag homosexuals” as the authorities like to call them. Probably a wanted criminal, definitely up to no good, Carmichael and his company have been traveling around Delsect, trying to put a stop to political scandal, amphibian shenanigans, and the looming threat of imminent warfare.

Born and raised in the humdrum town of Delaware (and probably not anywhere else), valiant and dashingly handsome Carmichael strives to be the best Cowboy around (even if the locals don’t seem to even know where America is in the first place).

Carmichael once had everything, and now he wants it back. At any cost.

Formerly world renowned and celebrated for his role as the supporting lead in Western Drama show ‘Free Country’, Carmichael found everything he wanted. Money, fame, adoration, love. After a fateful game of poker where he won a completely not suspicious and mundane “lucky coin” from some completely normal and not creepy silent masked avian individuals. From that night forth everything just seemed to go right for him. Until the “incident”.

Carmichael enjoyed a tumultuous relationship with the lead of the show Karbo Callister for 8 out of the 10 years they worked on the drama, stemming partly from his jealousy at the man's more natural success in comparison to his. His festering jealousy led to an explosion of anger one day on set, where he shot the side of Karbos face clean off with his pistol. Wracked with fear, regret and partial satisfaction, Carmichael was cast out and left with the consequences of his actions. He believed himself doomed from that day, and has enjoyed a spiral of bad luck ever since.

He goes around rejecting his reality, putting up a cowboy persona and lax attitude to cover his multitudes of unresolved problems. Nobody knows the truth about what happened between him and Karbo, and he intends to keep it that way. What happened to his show? It was canceled. What were those rumors about your relationship? I don’t know what you mean. What are you working on now? I'm on an extended career break. Denial is the best way to move forwards.

He possesses the audacity and the determination to do literally anything to survive and get back on his feet. When driven by the need for success and wealth, one can become desperate. All he wants is to become famous and well respected again, no matter what it takes.

Habits:Carmichaels temperaments are like the two sides of a coin. A grumpy, cold alcoholic with a gambling addiction and a propensity to brag about things that make no sense, he often presents as unapproachable, annoying and an all around nuisance with an ego bigger than the size of the whole country. On the other hand he can be charismatic, cunning, charming and a terribly good people pleaser. He’s a bit like marmite, you either love him or you hate him.

He has a habit of breaking promises, making terrible deals, and being the most likely person in the party to never think of consequences. A compulsive liar, he will brag about everything and anything- who knows if any of his stories are even true?

One thing is for sure, he always manages to just about make it out unscathed.

Frequents: In terms of locale, Carmichael frequents just about any bar in the area- not Casinos though, not anymore. (He’s been banned from basically all of them.) He can usually be found anywhere there’s a drink to be had.

He lives on the streets, and occasionally out of his old battered car (A black and gold Pontiac Firebird). It’s filled to the brim with his merchandise and awards, so he tends to just pass out in the nearest alleyway instead. He’s never been one to settle anywhere, but he’s never been one to let the past go either.

Vices: Alcohol is the poison of choice, it helps to take off the edge. If he’s not thinking straight then he doesn’t really have to think. Carmichael also carries a pack or two of Marlboros (he did an advertisement for them one time). Nothing like a good smoke to calm the senses.

Flatter him though, and you’ll get something else entirely. He just can’t help himself, especially if someones a good fan. Praise always does wonders to make one feel better about themselves.

He’s also a sucker for punishment.
