BIO

Rhea Graves was born and raised in Raccoon City. As a youth, she excelled academically and showed incredible promise. After finishing her college education in just two years, she attended the Raccoon Police Academy and joined the force upon graduating. When the Special Tactics and Rescue Service formed, she applied for a place on the team. Despite her inexperience, her knowledge and practical skills were enough to push her ahead of many potential candidates. She was brought on to S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team as the maintenance specialist. She was also Alpha Team's omni-man, making her Captain Albert Wesker's right hand in the field.

Her young age and lack of hard experience made her the subject of gossip in the R.P.D. Rumors circulated that she had done "favors" for Chief Irons and Captain Wesker for her place on the team. She never took the insults lying down, instead pushing herself harder than anyone else to prove that she belonged. She would take risks and deal with targets with unnecessary brutality, leading to her being reprimanded frequently, though Wesker would keep her on the right side of being discharged.

On July 24th, 1998, Rhea and the rest of Alpha Team went into the Arklay Mountains to search for the missing Bravo Team. After discovering the remains of Bravo Team's pilot, Alpha Team was surrounded by Cerberus-type B.O.W.s. The dogs chased Rhea, separating her from the rest of her team, who retreated to the nearby mansion. As she fought off the monsters, she was bitten. Just when she thought it was all over, Wesker arrived and finished off the last Cerberus.

Now infected with the T-Virus, her hours were numbered. Wesker offered her a deal: help him, and he would do everything in his power to save her. Feeling betrayed by Jill and the others for leaving her to die, she eagerly agreed. Over the course of the night, she assisted Wesker in his task to collect combat data on Umbrella's B.O.W.s and eliminate S.T.A.R.S.

When dawn broke, the two escaped the mansion together. The virus was finally beginning to take hold of Rhea's body and mind. Quickly meeting up with his contacts in Umbrella's rival company, Wesker used their facility to synthesize an extra dose of the prototype T-Virus he received from Birkin from the remains of what he used on himself. It was questionable whether it would even work, or if she would prove unworthy and die.

Hours later, she woke a new woman. Since then, she has worked closely with Wesker, her loyalties to him and his goals above any organization.

July 30th, 1998

Rhea has recovered well after her near-death experience in the Arklay Mountains. By the next morning, she was fully alert and active and ready to test her abilities. Her wound had fully healed, the necrotized tissue having sloughed off, though a scar still remains.

While she can't match my own strength, her results are impressive nonetheless. Her first trial was against a single armed opponent, with no weapons of her own. She dispatched him before he could react. Next, I set her against a squad of six. Results were similar: two were taken down before they could fire a single shot. Of the rounds fired, only three managed to hit her before she eliminated the final target. I expect improvement with further training.

However, none of her opponents survived. I had to gently remind her not to kill the organization's men. She's always had a taste for violence, but her aggression levels are far higher than pre-infection. Such a side effect isn't unexpected. The β strain of the T-Virus causes increased strength and aggression in the Cerberus-type B.O.W. -- the creature responsible for her initial infection.

I had hoped the prototype virus would completely eliminate the β strain in her system, but it seems some lingering symptoms remain, most notably the early stages of 'zombification' common in human subjects. She is quick to homicidal rage and has a habit of consuming human flesh. Whether these symptoms will be permanent or not remains to be seen. Scans show light damage to her neocortex, but nothing that shouldn't heal with time. Her bloodlust is an unfortunate variable, but if it can't be quelled, then I will find a way to use it to my benefit.

October 2nd, 1998

The blending of the β strain and the prototype virus within Rhea has led to intriguing results. While I must take regular injections of a T-based serum to maintain the benefits of the virus -- something Dr. Birkin neglected to mention in his initial correspondence -- Rhea shows no signs of such atrophy. It's as if the prototype virus is feeding off the β strain. Whether this is an attribute of the virus or of Rhea's own physiology is unknown, and not something I intend to test on myself.

Another interesting side effect: Rhea appears to have an influence over certain B.O.W.s. After I was satisfied with her performance against uninfected humans, I tested her against B.O.W.s captured by H.C.F. The Hunters refused to attack her, her will apparently overriding the orders of their handlers. When other B.O.W.s were released, the Hunters attacked on her command. Similar results were observed with the Cerberus.

Again, it's unclear whether this is the result of the β strain in a human subject that has maintained higher brain function or if it is unique to her. Regardless, I expect this mutation will be usable in further B.O.W. development.

November 15th, 1998

Since the discovery of Rhea's mutation, blood samples have been taken for use in development of improved Hunters. Results are promising -- already a prototype has been produced with greater intelligence than the original Umbrella model.

Her progress continues. Having proven herself against everything I've thrown at her, I gave her a final trial: me. While she has no hope of overpowering me, that only means she can show me her full potential with no fear of damaging the organization's assets.

Just as important as her physical condition is her loyalty. Beyond S.T.A.R.S., beyond the organization, she is loyal to me above all else -- the one who gave her life back when it was nearly taken from her. Yet, despite her loyalty, she has a mind of her own and has no qualms about speaking freely. There are few who can walk that line successfully.

I have no regrets in saving her life. She's shaping up to be quite the useful weapon in my arsenal.

December 24th, 1998

Rhea has grown beyond even my most optimistic predictions.

Continued medical observation shows the damage to her brain tissue has healed completely. Her homicidal urges have faded to a controllable inconvenience rather than a hazard. Muscle density, physical durability, tissue regeneration, all improved. She is so much more than human, now. Just as I did, she has become something greater.

But those are considerations for another time. For now, I have my upcoming mission to Rockfort Island. It's obvious that Rhea grows restless being confined to this facility. With her impressive results, I believe she's more than ready to accompany me.

Merry Christmas, my dear.

ALBERT WESKER

Rhea's former commander in S.T.A.R.S. She feels undying loyalty towards him for saving her life and giving her the means to transcend her humanity. Officers in the R.P.D. accused her of not earning her place on S.T.A.R.S., while her teammates underestimated her because of her age and inexperience -- except for Wesker. He saw her for the capable soldier she was, used her to her full potential, and gave her a sliver of trust that he showed to no one else. Her crush on her commanding officer quickly became full-blown love.

After years of being treated like an imposter, she became resentful, leaving her mind wide open to Wesker's ideology of the strong wiping out the weak. By allying herself with him, she would crush everyone who ever doubted her.

Wesker intended to use her as a tool, but quickly realized he had a genuine fondness for her. By surviving the T-Virus as he had, she proved she is the only one fit to rule his new world at his side.

HERA

A Cerberus adopted by Rhea. Hera is her beloved pet and is constantly at her side when Rhea isn't in the field. In Rhea's presence, Hera is as docile and friendly as any pet dog, but without her nearby, she reverts to her basic Cerberus instincts and must be kenneled until her master's return. On occasion, Rhea will take Hera out on less dangerous missions (to deadly results) but won't risk her safety unnecessarily.

JILL VALENTINE

In their days together in S.T.A.R.S., Rhea and Jill considered each other close friends. They spent time together off-duty and were a near constant fixture in each other's lives. When Rhea was nearly killed outside the Arklay mansion while the other survivors of Alpha Team fled, that changed. She felt a furious hatred towards Chris, Barry, and especially Jill for abandoning her to her fate.

In the years following Arklay, Rhea develops a twisted fondness for antagonizing Jill that borders on obsession. Despite repeated opportunities, she never tries to actually kill her, instead leaving her 'rival' alive to entertain her in the future. Jill knows that her old friend is gone, but still reaches out despite knowing the effort is futile.

ADA WONG

Though rocky at first, Rhea and Ada build an unexpected friendship during Ada's time working with Wesker's organization. Even after Ada's betrayal, the two maintain a strained respect between them -- though not enough to deter either from pursuing their respective goals.

BARRY BURTON

Before Arklay, Barry was protective of Rhea and felt a fatherly affection towards her. Even afterwards, he maintains that she is an innocent led astray and would gladly welcome her back if she were to give up on her villainous ways. She considers the idea laughable and mocks him for it at any opportunity.

CHRIS REDFIELD

Another former friend of Rhea's from her S.T.A.R.S. days. She hates him nearly as much as she hates Jill, but without the playful rivalry. She loathes him and would gladly kill him. He thinks of her as a lost cause, though he can't completely forget the good times they once had.

- December 1998: Accompanies Wesker to Rockfort Island and eventually Umbrella's Antarctic base, where they retrieve the body of Steve Burnside, who carries the T-Veronica virus.

- 2003: Accompanies Wesker to Umbrella's Russian facility. They kill Sergei Vladimir and collect Umbrella's research data.

- 2004: Sent by Wesker to Spain to retrieve a sample of Las Plagas from Jack Krauser's body.

- 2005: Sent by Wesker to infiltrate the Queen Zenobia and recover a sample of the T-Abyss virus. Once she has it, she helps Jill and Chris escape the Zenobia before its destruction.

- 2006: Accompanies Wesker to Spencer's Estate, where they clash with Jill and Chris. On her suggestion, Jill is kept alive and under their control after she no longer has use as a test subject.

- 2009: Accompanies Wesker to the Kijuju Autonomous Zone, where she assists him in carrying out his ultimate plans. Wesker sends Rhea to deal with Jill and Josh, who manage to defeat her and bring her into B.S.A.A. custody. Shortly after the incident, Chris informs her of Wesker's death, and she breaks out to confirm for herself... but instead finds him still just barely clinging to life. From there, she takes him to one of the few TriCell facilities still operating and has him put on life support.

- 2010: Meets with Alex Wesker and convinces her to assist in resurrecting Wesker in exchange for a few favors.

- 2014: Discovers the existence of Wesker's son, Jake Muller. Going on Alex's notes from before her death, Rhea collects a blood sample (against his will) and has her people set to work restoring Wesker.

- 2015 - Present: Whereabouts and activities unknown. There are rumors of a new organization dealing in black market bioweaponry, headed by a mysterious figure that some claim is Albert Wesker -- who is still presumed dead by the B.S.A.A. and the world at large.
